A user wearable apparatus including an optical sensor structure configured to optically monitor an area of a body of a user wearing the apparatus to monitor a physiological property of the user. A movement of at least one part of the optical sensor structure is caused to change the monitored area of the body of the user and to determine a desired monitoring area, and thereafter the monitoring of the physiological property of the user is maintained at the determined desired monitoring area.

Method and apparatus for sensing flexing of a device

A digital camera is constructed with multiple lenses mounted in a pair of tubular elements which are nested together for relative axial movement. Movement is provided by piezoelectric actuators mounted externally to a support tube on flexible printed circuit board elements. Each lens tube is provided with a drive rail which extends at least partially over the length of the lens tube and projects radially outward from the periphery of each of the tubes. The rails are accessible to the engagement pads of the piezoelectric actuators to allow the transmission of drive forces to each of the tubes.

A support for an optical system of a digital camera is constructed which provides adjustable positioning of the lens elements in response to signals from the camera control processor. The support comprises multiple tubes, mounted for relative coaxial movement, which support a lens element. At least one of the tubes is adjustable in position relative to a main support tube. The adjustable tube is engageable by piezoelectric elements. Each piezoelectrical element is mounted to a flexible printed circuit board which contains the camera operating system and is mounted on the support tube.

A method and apparatus for an imaging capable mobile terminal for close-up imaging is presented. An imaging lens arrangement has a first focal length in one direction and a second focal length in a second direction where the second focal length is shorter than the first focal length using an optical component such as a close-up lens or close-up lens and reflector which shortens the focal length of the lens arrangement. The close-up lens is mounted in a fixed position in the mobile terminal case and a rotatable camera assembly rotates a main camera lens into position behind the close-up lens so that the focal point of an object to be imaged can only converge at a point for close-up imaging.
