The disclosure relates to a method in a wireless device for transmitting an uplink signalling message in a wireless communication network. The wireless device is connected to a first network element over at least a first and a second wireless link. The method comprises determining a transmission mode among alternative transmission modes for transmitting the uplink signalling message. The alternative transmission modes comprise: transmitting on the first wireless link; transmitting on the second wireless link; and transmitting on both the first and the second wireless links. The method also comprises transmitting the uplink signalling message according to the determined transmission mode. The disclosure also relates to a corresponding method performed in the network element, and to the corresponding apparatus.

The reliability requirement is determined based at least in part on a consecutive packet loss associated with at least one previously transmitted packet. Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Methods and devices of enabling paging of a wireless communication device. In an aspect, a method of a node configured to provide core network user plane functionality in a communications network is provided to enable paging of a wireless communication device being in an idle state. The method includes receiving an indication that data is to be transmitted in downlink to the wireless communication device, identifying a radio access network control plane function, and sending a downlink data notification comprising an identifier of the wireless communication device and of a core network control plane function configured to provide mobility management where the wireless communication device currently is registered, thereby enabling for the identified radio access network control plane function to forward the download data notification to the identified core network control plane function configured to provide mobility management to enable the identified core network control plane function configured to provide mobility management to page the wireless communication device.

Paging of idle state wireless communication devices

The invention relates to methods and devices for managing a plurality of non-coordinated radio access networks. In an aspect, a method of a mobility management node is provided for managing a plurality of non-coordinated radio access networks (RANs) in a wireless communication network. The method comprises receiving, from a base station of a first of the plurality of RANs, information indicating frequencies available in the first RAN for accessing a network served by the mobility management node, acquiring information identifying a base station of a second of the plurality of RANs, said network being operated by an operator different from those operating the first and second RANs; and transmitting, to the base station of the second RAN, the information indicating the frequencies available in the first RAN for accessing said network.

Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a wireless device and core network node, as well as corresponding methods therein, for managing a data flow between a network access type 1 and a network access type 2. According to some examples, access type 1 may be a 3GPP access and access type 2 may be a non-3GPP access. The wireless device is connectable to both the networks of access types 1 and 2.
