An apparatus obtains a set of radio data comprising signal strength related values for radio signals transmitted by a transmitter with an association of each signal strength related value with a representation of a geographical location. The apparatus applies a frequency transform to the obtained set of radio data to obtain transform coefficients, each transform coefficient comprising a transform index and an associated transform value. The apparatus selects a subset of transform indices having more significant transform values than the remaining transform indices and compresses the transform indices by encoding each transform index exploiting a probability of occurrence of an index value of a respective transform index. The same or another apparatus decodes the compressed transform indices again for use in position operations.

Compressing and decompressing data about radio signals

A method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are provided for determining whether or not GNSS navigation data are potentially manipulated. In the context of a method, GNSS reference data is received that represents one or more GNSS signals observed by a reference receiver at a reference position. The method also receives GNSS navigation data and determines, at least partially based on said GNSS reference data and the GNSS navigation data, a position estimate of said reference position. The method further includes determining, at least partially based on said reference position and the position estimate of said reference position, whether or not the GNSS navigation data are potentially manipulated.

Assisted positioning for indoor positioning services

An apparatus is provided that determines, based on a geometrical criterion and at least one map object of plurality of map objects, whether a map element of a first map element type or a second map element type shall be created; wherein elements of the first map element type are intended to be usable for applying a constraint to a user position and wherein elements of the second map element type are intended to be less usable for applying a constraint to a user position compared to the elements of the first map element type; and creates a map element according to the determined map element type, the created map element being associated with the at least one map object.

Providing constraint to a position

A method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are provided for reconfiguring a radio positioning support system. In a method, one or more observation reports are received. Each observation report is associated with a respective radio positioning support device of a radio positioning support system. Each observation report contains an indication for a number of radio positioning support devices and/or for each radio positioning support device from which a radio positioning support signal is observable at a position of said respective radio positioning support device. The method also determines, based on said observation reports, whether a predetermined radio positioning support criterion is met by said radio positioning support system. If it is determined that the predetermined radio positioning support criterion is not met by the radio positioning support system, the method at least partially reconfigures and/or causes at least partially reconfiguration of the radio positioning support system.

A method, apparatus and system are provided for determining displacement information for a radio node. In a method respective position information is obtained that is indicative of a position of a respective radio node. The method determines the position of the respective radio node based on respective radio measurements of further respective radio nodes surrounding the respective radio node and on further respective radio measurements gathered by the respective radio node. The respective signals are sent by the one or more respective radio nodes surrounding the respective radio node. The method also determines displacement information based on the respective position information that is obtained and the determined position of the respective radio node.
