Disclosed is a system for co-operative repetition of broadcast messages comprising a plurality of router nodes, each being able to receive and repeat transmission of broadcast messages. The plurality of router nodes is configured to repeat collectively a transmission of a broadcast message on one or more frequency channels a collective target amount of times inside a neighborhood of the plurality of router nodes. The amount of repetitions of individual router nodes differs from 0 to n, wherein n&#x3e;0, in order to achieve the collective target amount of repetitions.

The method further includes linking the protocol stack software component and the common software component into a modem software executable capable of operation with hardware of the wireless communication device.

Multiple SIM support with single modem software architecture

A wireless device has at least first and second radio systems. A first of the radio systems provides an indication for a second of the radio systems that it is transmitting or is about to transmit. The actual interference caused by transmissions by the first radio system to operation of the second radio system is measured, and/or the likely interference caused by transmissions by the first radio system to operation of the second radio system is estimated. The behavior of at least one of the first and second radio systems is modified in order to reduce the interference depending on the measured actual interference or estimated likely interference.

A modem is provided for a wireless device that is capable of providing service for at least two SIMs. The modem has at least a first set of modem components and a second set of modem components. The modem selectively reconfigures the arrangement of the plural sets of modem components. In a first configuration, the first set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a first SIM of the wireless device and the second set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a second SIM of the wireless device. This allows active wireless connections to be made on behalf of both SIMs simultaneously by the sets of modem components. A system and method for accommodating mobile station synchronization to neighbor cells in a mobile communication system. At least one available frame is utilized as a search window in an uplink data transfer multiframe for receiving neighboring cell synchronization information. The invention relates to a method for reducing the power consumption of a mobile station () connected to a packet-switched network (), in which packet-switched network information is sent in the form of data frames. In the method, a paging period is specified for the mobile station for sending paging messages (UD) essentially at the intervals of said paging period to the mobile station, the mobile station () is set to the standby mode at least for the time of the reception of the paging messages (UD), and the mobile station, which is in the standby mode, is set to the idle mode after the reception of the paging message (UD). In the idle mode, some of the functions of the mobile station () are set to the power saving mode or switched off. In the method, the mode of operation of the mobile station in the idle mode is changed from the idle mode to the standby mode to receive information transmitted in the packet-switched network either at intervals during the paging period for maintaining synchronization to the packet-switched network, or at the end of the paging period for performing synchronization to the packet-switched network again.

Method for reducing the power consumption of a mobile station

The invention relates to a method for supplying reference data that is to be used in a mobile station of a radio communications network for a frequency update of the frequency used by the mobile station, which reference data is based on bursts received by the mobile station from a base station of said radio communications system. In order to allow for an improved supply of reference data to an automatic frequency correction algorithm, it is proposed that the method comprises determining the signal-to-noise-ratio of all bursts received unless they were discarded by some selection process; and providing at least some of the bursts for which a signal-to-noise-ratio greater than a predetermined value was determined as basis for the reference data to be used for the frequency update.
