The present disclosure relates to a wrist strap for a biometric monitor, wherein the biometric monitor comprises a casing having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the second surface comprising a biometric sensor area located at the centre area of the second surface, said strap comprising receiving means arranged to receive the biometric monitor, such that the biometric monitor is attachable to the strap via a pair of parts enabling rotational movement of the biometric monitor, the parts being located at two opposite perimeter side edges of the biometric monitor, and thereby defining a rotation axis, wherein the perpendicular bisector of the rotation axis between the pair of parts is arranged to pass through the centre area of the second surface. The present disclosure also provides a biometric monitor connected to the wrist strap.

Strap for a biometric monitor

A portable pulse measuring device having a lighting configuration having at least three elements selected from a light-emitting source for emitting radiant energy through a human body tissue and a light detector for detecting the intensity of said radiant energy after propagation through the human body tissue and for providing input signals representative of the propagation. The lighting configuration includes at least one light-emitting source and at least one light detector. A processor is provided for determining pulse rate in response to processing the input signals. The present application provides a portable biometric monitor () comprising a biometric sensor, wherein the housing of said portable biometric monitor is connected to a strap for attaching the portable biometric monitor to a user, the strap comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the strap comprises spacer elements () having a first end and a second end, the strap being connected from its two sides at the first end and from its two sides at the second end to two sides at the first end of the housing and to two sides at the second end of the housing via pivots () connected to said spacer elements to allow pivoted movement of the housing, wherein the distance of the pivot locations between the first end of the housing and the second end of the housing is in the range of 10-30 mm.

An approach is provided for adaptive display and filtering of sensors and sensor data. A sensor manager determines one or more signals associated with one or more sensors. The sensor manager then processes and/or facilitates a processing of the one or more signals for comparison against one or more predetermined signals. The sensor manager determines one or more parameters for one or more filters based, at least in part, on the comparison, wherein the one or more filters operate, at least in part, on the one or more sensors, one or more other signals determined form the one or more sensors, or a combination thereof.

Method and apparatus for providing adaptive display and filtering of sensors and sensor data

The specification and drawings present a new apparatus and method for providing and using a uniform threshold for capacitive touch sensing in a user interface having a non-flat touch surface. The capacitive touch sensor can to provide a sensor signal using the uniform capacitance threshold level as a function of a location of an object (e.g., finger, stylus, etc.) on or near the non-flat touch surface of a user interface module using a substantially uniform distance between the non-flat touch surface and a capacitive touch sensor layer, and/or using a gradient of a dielectric constant of materials between the non-flat touch surface and the capacitive touch sensor layer according to a predetermined criterion.

An apparatus includes a force sensor configured to be activated by a user and a control unit connected to an output of the force sensor. Apparatus and method providing transformation for human touch force measurements

A sensor includes a rectangular conductive sheet. Electrical connectors are connected at each corner of the sheet. A number of non-conductive features, e.g. apertures, are formed in this sheet. In one embodiment, V-shaped features extend from near the corners of the sheet towards the centre of the sheet and then turn towards an adjacent corner. Smaller V-shaped features reside in the area between the larger features and the closest edge of the sheet. In another embodiment, a spider web formation of conductive tracks or paths is provided. This provides hardware correction of pincushion error. It reduces or eliminates the need for software correction of pincushion error.

Sensors

Control signals for a process displaying graphical objects in a display are generated with a first control surface, a second control surface and detector means. The first control surface is available for manipulation with a thumb of one hand on one side of a hand-held electronic device. The second control surface is adapted for manipulation with another finger of the same hand. It is located on a different side of the hand-held electronic device. The detector means jointly detect how the first and second control surfaces are manipulated, and convey information about detected manipulation of the first and second control surfaces further to generation of the control signals.

Control and a control arrangement

A joystick has a dome facing a flat position sensitive detector for use an electronic device. The dome is elastically mounted so that the apex of the dome rests on the detector. As the joystick is deflected, the dome and the detector roll against each other such that the apex of the dome moves to a different location of the detector surface. The joystick can be depressed to cause the dome to buckle in order to select a function of the electronic device. When the joystick is depressed, the contact area between the dome and the detector increases abruptly. After the dome is buckled, the user can exert an uneven pressure to the joystick to allow the electronic device to carry out another function.

It is an object of the invention to provide a electromechanical structure comprising an input device and a printed wired board (), which structure is advantageous in terms of manufacturing and offers freedom to the layout design of the printed wired board, the user interface as well as the appearance of the device itself. It is also an object of the invention to provide a electromechanical structure that is compact and facilitates the customizability and upgradability with a new electronic functionality without any need for modifications to the main electronics of the device. This is achieved by integrating the electromechanical assembly with the mechanical cover part of the electronic device by using an injection moulding process to compose an integrated combination () which is detachable from the electronic device. More precisely the objects of the invention are achieved by combining the injection mould technologies with the printing of electronic wired boards.
