It is provided a method, comprising monitoring if an invitation to an emergency session of an anonymous user is received from an internet protocol address; checking, if the invitation is received, if an identity of a user is correlated to the internet protocol address; replacing, if the internet protocol address is correlated to the identity of the user, the identification of the anonymous user in the invitation by the identity of the user; forwarding the invitation comprising the identity of the user.

IMS emergency session handling

A method and apparatus may include determining whether a user equipment is reachable or not. The method may also include determining whether a network should buffer downlink data. The determining whether the network should buffer the downlink data is based on stored context information or by querying an evolved Node B. The method may also include requesting a first network node to buffer the downlink data for a duration. The method may also include informing a second network node if the user equipment is determined to be unreachable. Method and apparatus to address user equipment power consumption

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to facilitate the handover from a packet switched network to a circuit switched network while an Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) session is ongoing. In the context of a method, a notification is received of the handover from a packet switched network to a circuit switched network while an IMS session is ongoing. The method also receives an indication that an emergency call service is active in the IMS session and determines that media resources in the circuit switched network are required to support the emergency call service, as supplemented by a minimum set of emergency related data, that is active in the IMS session. A method comprises receiving information for handover of a user equipment from a first connection to a second connection. The information for handover comprises information of a real-time text component of a call in progress in the first connection. There is proposed a method and corresponding apparatuses allowing a change from a packet switched communication domain to a circuit switched communication domain. When a user equipment as a connection terminating point receives a connection initialization message with a media flow, such as audio, which cannot be delivered by the packet switched access, it sends a specific response rejecting the connection via the packet switched access to an application server for service centralization and continuity. In the application server, it is checked whether several conditions are met in order to determine whether the communication connection comprising the media flow is allowed to be changed to the circuit switched domain. User equipment power optimization

The present invention relates to a session merging entity in a communication system IMS. The merging entity is handling communication of the first user; the communication comprises a first session and a second session. The first session and the second session are merged into a single session towards the second user, if the same IMS communication service identifier has been indicated for the first session and the second session. The merging entity may also be located at the terminal device of the second user.

Improved systems and techniques for dual connection to a wireless communications network. In a wireless network comprising one or more macro base stations and secondary base stations, a user device indicates capability to operate and readiness to initiate an alternative multipath transfer control protocol connection. Radio access network procedures provide for communication between a core network, radio access network, and user device to indicate that bearers are being used for, or authorized for use in, an alternative multipath connection and to establish a radio bearer context. In embodiments of the invention, a bearer for alternative multipath connection is established only when a secondary base station becomes available and when a network operator has allowed the use of multipath connection. When a user device indicates that it is ready for multipath connections, core network elements establish bearers, with the alternative connection released when connection to the secondary base station is lost.

Methods and apparatus for wireless connection management

In the area of mobile telecommunications, the performance of single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) can be enhanced so as to provide video single radio voice call continuity (vSRVCC). Particularly, SRVCC/vSRVCC procedures can be configured for more efficient use of radio resources. A method includes receiving a query to determine in a multi-session scenario whether a last active session is a voice only session or a video session.
