The suspension system may include an axle operably coupled to a frame of the vehicle, an electric motor operably coupled to the axle to propel the vehicle, one or more wheels operably coupled to the axle, at least one vertical damper extending substantially perpendicular to a driving surface and operably coupled to the frame and the axle, and a horizontal damper extending substantially parallel to the driving surface. A first distal end of the horizontal damper may operably couple to the frame, and a second distal end of the horizontal damper may operably couple to the electric motor.

The chassis system may include a frame of the vehicle forming a base for the vehicle, an axle operably coupled to the frame, the axle having a first portion with a first diameter and a second portion with a second diameter, an electric motor operably coupled to the axle to propel the vehicle, one or more wheel assemblies operably coupled to the axle, and a track bar may be operably coupled to the axle via a first end and operably coupled to the frame via a second end. The second end may be linearly displaced from the first end along a reference line, and the track bar may include a hook portion defining an offset from the reference line, the offset extending away from the axle. The hook portion may extend around a transition between the first portion and the second portion of the axle.

A vehicle suspension system may include a semi trailing arm, a coilover damper and a distributed jounce response assembly. The semi trailing arm may be operably coupled to a chassis of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) at a first pivotable connection and a second pivotable connection. The semi trailing arm may also support a rear wheel of the BEV. The coilover damper may be disposed between the chassis and a third pivotable connection on the semi trailing arm. The distributed jounce response assembly may progressively distribute a jounce load to at least two different locations within the system.

An alignment assembly that includes a body that defines a bolt aperture and at least one pin aperture. A control arm is proximate the body and includes a bushing with a bushing aperture. A bolt extends through the bushing aperture and the bolt aperture. The bolt has a front portion and an end portion opposing the front portion. A flag nut is coupled to the end portion and includes a plate with at least one aperture. At least one pin extends through the at least one pin aperture and the at least one aperture. A position of the pin at least partially determines a position of the control arm.

A suspension system includes a leaf spring, an actuator attached to the leaf spring, and an axle mount attached to the actuator. The actuator is disposed vertically between the leaf spring and the axle mount and is actuatable to change a distance between the leaf spring and the axle mount.

Tire carriers for use with vehicles are disclosed herein. An example tire carrier, includes a frame including telescopically coupled tubes; and a lock carried by one of the tubes, the lock structured to mechanically engage another one of the tubes to fix the tubes relative to one another to prevent the tire carrier from inadvertently moving toward a lowered position, the lock structured to reduce the mechanical engagement with the other one of the tubes to enable the tire carrier to be moved toward a raised position.
