A ball valve includes a valve element and a single piece packing that seals the valve element within a valve cavity. The single piece packing is installed over the valve element at room temperature or may be molded thereon. The valve element may include a flow control element such as a ball and upper and lower trunnions. The various dimensions of the valve element and packing are selected to facilitate room temperature assembly and to substantially reduce the volume of packing material, thereby improving the performance of the valve over wider temperature ranges and pressure ratings.

Method of assembling a ball valve

A ball valve includes a valve element and a single piece packing that seals the valve element within a valve cavity. The single piece packing is pulled over the valve element at room temperature or may be molded on. The valve element may include a flow control element such as a ball and upper and lower trunnions. The lower trunnion may extend past a lower end of the packing.

Ball valve packing

An adjustable mechanism for a valve or actuator is provided. The adjustable mechanism cooperates with one or more pistons, which in turn cooperates with a valve element to limit the axial displacement of the valve element relative to the valve seat. The adjustable mechanism can be adjusted axially, thereby providing a greater or lesser distance for the piston and diaphragm to travel. Embodiments incorporating the adjustable mechanism include a trickle valve, an on/off valve and a mixing valve. The adjustable mechanism also provides to the adjustment of the piston stroke to match or closely mirror the stroke of the vale element.

Valve with adjustable stop

A fluid actuator configured for achieving extended cycle life and reduced overall actuator height. The actuator may include a nesting arrangement between portions of the actuator to reduce overall height and provide stability. The actuator may also join movable members and include a guidance mechanism to avoid undesired contact between actuator portions.

Fluid actuator

A ball valve includes a body having a passageway there through with a ball member disposed in the passageway and mounted for selective rotation between valve open and valve closed positions to control fluid flow. A pair of flange grooves are provided in the body on opposite sides of the ball, each flange groove extending radially from the passageway. A pair of seat rings are disposed in the passageway on opposite sides of the ball. Each seat ring has a first sealing surface in contact with an outer surface of the ball and a radially extending annular flange or tab received in an associated one of the flange grooves. The seat design further includes a pair of annular flange seals each disposed in a respective one of the flange grooves. The seat configuration achieves a cantilever effect to improve the temperature and pressure cycling performance of the valve.

Ball valve seat seal

A ball valve ( ) includes a body (A) having a passageway ( ) extending therethrough with a ball member (B) disposed in the passageway and mounted for selective rotation between valve open and valve closed positions to control fluid flow through the valve. A pair of flange grooves are provided in the body on opposite sides of the ball. each flange groove extending radially from the passageway. A pair of seat rings ( ) are disposed in the passageway on opposite sides of the ball. Each seat ring has a first sealing surface ( ) in contact with an outer surface of the ball and a radially extending annular flange or tab ( ) received in an associated one of the flange grooves ( ). The seat design further includes a pair of annular flange seals ( ) each disposed in a respective one of the flange grooves. The seat material is preferably made of a relatively harder and stiffer material compared to PTFE, such a PEEK The seat configuration achieves a cantilever effect to improve the temperature and pressure cycling performance of the valve. The flange seals are energized and made of an elastomer material or other suitable flexible seal materials having spring-like characteristics.
