A self-checkout verification system may include a user device configured to collect user mobile checkout image data from products to be purchased in a store during a mobile checkout process, generate a mobile checkout list of the products to be purchased based upon the collected mobile checkout image data, and process payment based upon the mobile checkout list. The system may also include a self-checkout verification station in the store and configured to obtain the mobile checkout list from the user device, collect verification image data from a plurality of products presented for verification, and generate a verification list based upon the verification image data. The self-checkout verification station may also be configured to determine a discrepancy between the verification list and the mobile checkout list, and generate and communicate a notification based upon the discrepancy.

Self-checkout verification system and related methods

A medication validation system may include a camera to capture an image of a medication container that may have physical container characteristics associated therewith and a computer-readable indicia affixed thereon. A validation server may obtain stored medication physical container characteristics and associated stored computer-readable indicia, and obtain image data associated with the image from the camera. The image data may be representative of the physical container characteristics of the medication container. The validation server may determine the physical container characteristics of the medication container from the obtained image data, and determine the computer-readable indicia from the obtained image data. The validation server may also determine whether the medication container is mislabeled based upon an attempted matching of both of the stored and obtained medication container characteristics and the stored and obtained computer-readable indicia indicative that the medication container is mislabeled, and communicate a notification that the medication container is mislabeled.

Medication validation system and related methods

A medication tray may include a boundary wall defining a boundary outline. Markers may be carried by the boundary wall. A mobile device may obtain a first image of the medication tray, and determine a number of the markers from the first image. When the number equals or exceeds a threshold, an edge detection algorithm may be applied to the first image to identify the boundary outline based upon the markers, and generate a stocking list of the tray based upon the outline. When the determined number does not exceed the threshold, the device may obtain a second image of the tray, and determine an updated number of the markers from the first and second images. When the updated number equals or exceeds the threshold, the algorithm may be applied to the images to identify the outline based upon the markers, and generate the stocking list based upon the outline.

Medication inventory system including image based boundary determination for generating a medication tray stocking list and related methods

A medication inventory system may include a medication tray that includes compartments for storing respective medications. The medication tray may have a tray identifier associated therewith. The system may also include a mobile wireless communications device configured to obtain at least one image of the medication tray, and apply a Hough line detection algorithm to the at least one image to determine a boundary outline of the medication tray. The mobile wireless communications device may also be configured to generate a current medication stocking list of the medication tray based upon the boundary outline and the tray identifier from the at least one image.

Medication inventory system including boundary outline based medication tray stocking list and related methods

A pharmaceutical transport system may include an authentication server for storing authorized user identifications (IDs), and a pharmaceutical transport device movable within a pneumatic network. The transport device may include a container, a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader configured to obtain a user identification (ID) based upon a user RFID transmitter being presented adjacent thereto, and wireless communications circuitry to wirelessly communicate the obtained user ID to the authentication server. The pharmaceutical transport device may also include an electronic lock configured to unlock the container responsive to an unlock command via the wireless communications circuitry and from the authentication server based upon a match between the obtained user ID and one of the plurality of authorized user IDs.

Pharmaceutical transport system including RFID based lock operation and related methods

A medication inventory system may include a medication tray that includes compartments for storing respective medications with each medication having a respective medication identifier associated therewith. The medication tray may have a tray identifier associated therewith. The medication inventory system may also include a mobile wireless communications device configured to obtain images of the medication tray and generate a current medication stocking list of the medication tray from the images. The medication inventory system may also be configured to determine a desired medication stocking list for the medication tray based upon the tray identifier and determine at least one missing medication based upon the current medication stocking list and the desired medication stocking list.

A pharmaceutical transport system may include a pneumatic tube network and a pharmaceutical transport cleaner. The pharmaceutical transport cleaner may include a cylindrical body, and a rotatable cleaning band extending around the cylindrical body to contact and clean adjacent portions of the pneumatic tube network as the cylindrical body moves through the pneumatic tube network.
