A power connector assembly ( ) includes a plug ( ) and a receptacle ( ). The width of the cover is changeable in order to meet different voltage requirements.

Outside surfaces ( ) of the contact sections are gold plated for conductively contacting against a corresponding receptacle contact of a receptacle connector. The contact plate forms a blocking tab ( ) extending in a direction opposite to the plated outside surfaces for insertion between the protrusions of the housing.

A pin header ( ) for being mounted onto a printed circuit board ( ) includes a dielectric housing ( ) and a single row of terminal pins ( ) in the housing. The housing forms a pair of boardlocks ( ) and a stabilizer bar ( ) on a same lateral side ( ) thereof. Each boardlock forms a pair of legs ( ) for being interferingly inserted into a hole ( ) in the printed circuit board for preventing the housing from floating during soldering or rocking toward a second lateral side ( ) of the housing opposite the lateral side ( ). The stabilizer bar has a bottom surface ( ) generally co-planar with a bottom face ( ) of the housing for abutting on a top surface ( ) of the printed circuit board, for preventing the housing from leaning toward the lateral side. Therefore, the terminal pins can be correctly soldered into first holes ( ) of the printed circuit board since the header is stabilized by the boardlock and the stabilizer bar.

Card reader

An electrical contact having a termination end for terminating with a wire and a contact end for mating with a mating contact. The contact end has a top wall with two top portions with a seam therebetween. One of the top portions has a locking lance to secure the contact within a housing. An engaging member provides interaction between the two top portions to distribute forces from the top portion having the locking lance to the other top portion.

The invention is directed to an electrical connector (10) including a housing (12) with a mating face (16), a rear face (18) opposite to the mating face (16), a side (20), and an end (26), the end (26) having a holding feature (30) thereon. The housing (12) is mountable onto a surface of a substrate with either the rear face (18) or the [mating face] side (20) being placed against the surface. A hold down (40) is securable to the housing feature (30). The hold down (40) has a substrate securing portion (42) and housing securing portion (46). The housing securing portion (46) is securable to the holding feature (30) in at least two orientations to secure the housing (12) to the substrate when it is mounted in either orientation.

An electrical connector (10) includes a housing (12) having at least one conductor-receiving aperture (16) and an associated terminal-receiving passageway (32) intersecting each conductor-receiving aperture (16), and a terminal (40) disposed in each terminalreceiving passageway (32). Each terminal (40) includes a body (42) having a first connecting section (44) extending from one end thereof and a pair of upstanding arms (46) defining an insulation displacement contact at an opposite end. Each terminal (40) is partially inserted into the terminal-receiving passageway (32) in a first position and upon positioning the first connecting sections (44) in corresponding through-holes (62) of a circuit board (60), the terminals (40) can be secured to the board (60). The ends of insulated conductors (70) then can be inserted into respective conductor-receiving apertures (16) and terminated to respective terminals (40) therein by moving the housing (12) toward the board (60) to a second position against the board (60).
