An air-cooled high intensity LED light system includes an air-cooled LED array coupled to a blower device via a conduit. Each segment of the array includes a radiator thermally coupled to the LED elements to transfer heat from the LED elements to the environment. Airflow through the radiators is accomplished by creating a vacuum within the array by drawing air out of the manifold through the conduit. A blower provides the desired vacuum pressure to draw air from the environment through the radiator fins and out of the manifold. The conduit branches into individual segments so that an inlet corresponds to each of the segments of the array.

Air cooled array and system for cooling light emitting diode systems

An LED module includes a base portion, a first reflector portion secured to a first side of the base portion, a second reflector portion secured to a first side of the base portion; and an LED package disposed along the first side of the base portion. The LED package can be secured on a first end between the base portion and the first reflector portion, and on a second end between the base portion and a second reflector portion. Coolant channels can be defined through the base and reflector portions. A connector can electrically connect negative and positive terminals of adjacently located and oppositely oriented LED elements in the LED package. The reflector portions can be exchanged for other reflector portions that have a different reflector profile.

LED module

A light emitting diode (LED) module includes a first end cap, a second end cap and a reflector portion. The reflector portion extends longitudinally between the first end cap and the second end cap. The reflector portion includes a coolant passageway defined longitudinally through the reflector portion and is fluidically coupled to the first end cap and the second end cap. An LED package is disposed adjacent to the reflector portion. An orifice bushing can be disposed within a coolant passage defined in the first end cap to restrict coolant flow through the reflector portion to preclude starvation of coolant flow elsewhere in the LED module.

An LED device has an LED assembly connected to or abutting a heat sink, the heat sink connected to a cooling bridge and optionally enclosed within insulated connector end caps and crossover end caps and within a reflector cover and side cover. The cooling bridge conducts heat to the heat sink away from the reflector cover, and side cover, where the heat may be removed by a circulating coolant.
