Technologies for controlling operating clearance between a concave assembly and a crop processing rotor of a combine harvester can be automated. The technologies can include a device configured to estimate respective dimensions of kernels of a crop harvested by a combine harvester as well as determine boundary conditions for the operating clearance based on the estimated respective dimensions of the kernels. Also, the boundary conditions are related to respective central core sizes (such as respective cob sizes) which can be determined based on the estimated respective dimensions of the kernels. The determination can include deriving the boundary conditions from a table including correlations between kernel dimensions and central core sizes, and the table can be enhanced by a feedback loop. The operating clearance can be automatically adjusted according to the determined boundary conditions and some additional factors such as a debris-to-kernel ratio in an output of the harvester.

Methods and systems for monitoring a throughput of a crop cut from a field. The system may include, and the method may be performed at least in part using, a combine harvester including a feeder box, a main body, a threshing mechanism, and an organic material throughput sensor provided within the feeder box. The system may also include a data management system. The organic material throughput sensor senses organic material throughput data including at least one of a volume of the organic material, and a weight of the organic material, and the data management system outputs an organic material throughput map or other information based on the organic material throughput data. Using the organic material throughput data or the organic material throughput map, a producer or other operator can make a more informed planting or treatment decision for a field.

A combine harvester comprises a storage bin for storing harvested crop, an unload conveyor, a flow gate for regulating a flow of harvested material from the storage bin to the unload conveyor, a first sensor for detecting a position of the flow gate and a second sensor for detecting a position of the unload conveyor. The harvester further comprises a controller configured to enable a user interface for receiving from an operator of the combine harvester a set point for the flow gate, an on/off indicator for the unload conveyor and an unload conveyor position indicator, presenting a graphic element including a graphical depiction of the unload conveyor, and indicating, using only graphical variations of the graphical depiction of the unload conveyor, a position of the unload conveyor, an operating status of the unload conveyor, the set point of the flow gate and the position of the flow gate.

An assembly and method of forming a press cutting die assembly that is configured to perforate a tissue graft blank during cutting of the blank from a bulk graft material. The press cutting die assembly includes a frame, a perimeter blade, and a plurality of fenestration blades that extend between respective portions of the perimeter blade. In a preferred embodiment, the plurality of fenestration blades are provided in at least two groups to form a repeating pattern of preferably uniformly spaced perforations within the perimeter of the blank. Such a press cutting die assembly is particularly applicable for cutting biologically compatible materials having a desired shape and uniform fenestration pattern from a bulk source of the biologically compatible material.
