The dynamic axis of a sphere, e.g. golf ball, is located by spinning the sphere at high speed while it is supported on a low friction-bearing surface, thus allowing the desired stable axis to align itself with the spin axis. Markings indicative of the location of the stable axis are applied to the sphere. The spinning operation also indicates the degree of existing eccentricities in the sphere.

Method and apparatus for locating the dynamic axis of a sphere

A spring driven power device in which energy in a loaded spring is delivered to a rotary member. A hollow cylindrical member having a splined inside surface is provided. A stem with external splines is coaxially mounted within the hollow cylindrical member with a space between the members. A viscous material such as silicon putty is disposed in the annular space between the members. A driving spring is provided which can be a coil tension spring with connections from the spring to one of the members, preferably the hollow cylindrical member. Relative rotation between the members is resisted by the viscous material. The spring releases its energy driving the hollow cylindrical member in a manner such that the energy is released in a steady controlled manner.

The toy doll includes a body and a movable head having a mouth opening formed therein. A drive mechanism is contained within the doll's body for oscillating the head in a forward and aft direction in response to the insertion of an object into the doll's mouth opening. Simultaneously, oscillation of the doll's head operates a pair of cymbals for producing sounds simulating those of a child sucking on a bottle.

An integrated apparatus or device for transferring, that is, pumping water from a water bottle to a water fountain having a reservoir with a dispensing faucet. A housing is provided carrying a stopper for insertion into the neck of a water bottle. Within the housing, there is a pump; a tube is connected to the pump discharge and extends through the stopper for pumping air into the bottle. A further tube passes through the stopper for transferring water from the bottle. The other end of this tube extends to fitting means which can be placed on the reservoir in a position normally occupied by the water bottle in an inverted position. This fitting carries a float valve which closes the end of the supply tube when the reservoir is filled.

A toy vehicle is provided for use in a toy vehicle game including an endless track defining at least two parallely extending vehicle lanes in which two or more toy vehicles are adapted to be operated. The toy vehicles each include a reversible rotary drive motor and a transmission operatively engaged between the motor and two drive wheels for rotating one or the other of the drive wheels in response to the direction of rotation of the drive motor, thereby biasing the car against one or the other of the side walls of the track to guide the vehicle along its path of travel in one or the other of the lanes. The track includes electrical contact strips which supply power to the drive motor of the vehicles through current collectors mounted thereon. A control system permits the operators to separately and independently control current to the contact strips and also to selectively reverse the polarity of the current so that the operators can vary the speed of their associated vehicles and cause the vehicles to move from one lane to the other. In one form of the invention an additional toy vehicle operated as a drone car at constant speed is provided presenting an obstacle along the track which the players must pass by properly controlling their respective toy vehicles.

A toy vehicle is provided for use in a toy vehicle game including an endless track defining at least two parallelly extending vehicle lanes in which two or more toy vehicles are adapted to be operated. Doors are slideably mounted in tracks by structure which cooperates with and follows the course of the tracks even around sharp corners and curves to permit sliding of the doors into out of the way storage positions. The sliding door assembly is illustrated forming a bathtub/shower enclosure.

The subject doll includes a body, a head rotatably mounted on the body, and a pair of arms having hands formed thereon being articulatedly mounted on the body. A drive mechanism is located within the body for simultaneously rotating the doll's head through a predetermined angle to face towards one side of the body and for moving the arms from a first raised position wherein the hands are spaced from one another at about the level of the shoulders of the body to a second position wherein the hands are positioned adjacent each other near the midriff of the body. When the doll is positioned on a play surface, on its midriff with the doll's hands in their first position, the movements of the doll's head and its hands to their second position will cause the center of gravity of the doll to shift. The doll will then tip over in a direction opposite to the direction in which the doll's head faces in its turned position and thus roll over on its back.

A body is provided forming a handle. A pair of complementary jaw members fit within the body and move longitudinally therein. The jaw members are configurated at their outer ends so as to be complementary and together to form a nut engaging configuration. Cam surfaces are provided on the insides of the body in a position to engage surfaces of the jaw members for camming them toward each other when a nut is engaged by the jaw members and a force is applied in a direction toward the nut. The jaw members move inwardly with respect to the body and are cammed towards each other to tightly engage and hold the nut. Preferably, the jaw members are pivoted together within the body and a spring is provided to normally urged them outwardly.

Apparatus for simulating an open fire having a lamp mounted on a base structure within a shell. The shell is simulative of a pile of burning logs or the like and is at least in part light transmitting. Light masks are included, one of which operates to project the image of a flame on a projection screen mounted at the rear of the apparatus base. Arrangements may also be included for varying the light pattern projected from the lamp, for simulating the heat of a fire and for simulating the burning noise of a fire.

Apparatus for simulating an open fire

A cabinet having a lower door which opens outwardly and an upper door which opens downwardly to rest on the opened lower door; thereby the cabinet may be converted into a bar. The lower door preferably has an extension hinged to its outer end which folds outwardly and the upper door is preferably right angularly shaped to overlie the extension when it is folded open.
