Successive machine reels are reeled from a paper web (W) so the machine reel (R) that is becoming full is reeled in contact with a movable pressing device () at a second reeling nip (N) in a final stationary reeling station apart from a device () forming a first reeling nip (N). A new, empty reel spool () is taken to a transfer device () and the change is conducted when the reel spool is located in the transfer device (). The reel spool () with machine reel (R) is transferred after the change by the transfer device (), while in nip contact with the pressing device () away from the first nip contact (N) to the final reeling station, where the machine reel is reeled so that it becomes full, in nip contact (N) with the pressing device (), whereafter the transfer device returns to the change station.

Method in reeling and a reel-up

In the method and device in connection with a reel-up of a paper web there is a rotating reel spool () around which a reel (R) has been formed from the paper web (W) passed to the reel-up. In the method web (W) passed to the reel is cut, and the surface layers of the reel are bound by a pressing device () which is in contact with the surface of the rotating reel (R) and has a press member () forming a nip with the peripheral surface of the reel and rotating substantially at the same surface speed therewith. In addition to using the press member (), the final end, i.e. tail (H) of the web that travels along with the rotating motion of the reel is guided against the peripheral surface of the reel (R) by a guiding member (), which is located within a distance from the press member () in the direction of the perimeter of the reel and whose surface that is located opposite to the reel has a lower speed in the direction of motion of the peripheral surface of the reel than the peripheral surface of the reel (R).

Method and device in connection with a reel-up

A paper web reeled on a reeling core is affected to form a reel at least by means of the torque of a reeling cylinder and the nip load, wherein in connection with the reel change a new reeling core is brought in nip contact with the reeling cylinder above the reeling cylinder, together with a change device especially a so-called gooseneck. During the reel change an adhesive or the like is applied between the layers of the paper web in connection with the cutting of the paper web by means of a cutting device. The adhesive or the like is applied on the surface of the reel that is being formed by means of a member applying the adhesive.

Method and device in reel change

A reeling device including a reel drum supported on reeling rails and around which a paper web is reeled into a reel through a reeling nip defined between a set of belt rolls and the reel. The set of belt rolls extends in the cross direction substantially across the web width. A method for reeling or unwinding a paper web in which the paper web is reeled around a reel drum supported on reeling rails into a reel or unwound from the reel by means of a reeling nip. The paper web is reeled through the reeling nip which is formed between at least one set of belt rolls extending in the cross direction substantially across the web width and the reel that is being formed/unwound.
