The present invention relates to a process for preparing a modified wood product wherein a step of resin treatment is followed by a thermal modification step. The present invention also relates to a modified wood product produced using said process.

The present invention relates to a method of making a foamed cellulosic fiber-thermoplastic composite article. The method includes the steps of providing a copolymer composition, combining the copolymer composition and cellulosic fibers, applying heat, mixing energy and pressure to form a foamable mixture, and forming the foamable article in a molding or extruding operation. The method is characterized in that at least 10% of the cellulosic fibers have been thermally modified prior to being combined with the copolymer composition.

Composite product and a process for producing said product

The present invention relates to an improved process for manufacturing an extruded composite product comprising natural fibers and a thermoplastic polymer. According to the present invention, mixing as well as crosslinking takes place inside an extruder. The natural fibers may be provided for example in the form of pulp or wood particles.

Process for manufacturing composite product

The present invention is directed to a composite material comprising a cellulosic material, high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and styrene maleic anhydride (SMA). The cellulosic material may be thermally modified prior to being incorporated into the composite material. The present invention is also directed to a composite product that comprises the composite material according to the invention.

The invention concerns an extruded composite containing wood fibre material and polymer. The wood fibre material is wood material where the knot or branch content is at least 10 w-%, or bark, or would material into which extract material obtained by extracting knots, branches or bark has been absorbed. The amount of the polymer is 5-25% from the weight of the composite. The composite has high hardness, and reduced moisture absorption and swelling properties. It can be used as constructional material.

The present invention relates to a composite product comprising a thermally modified solid wood component coated with a layer of a composite material which composite material comprises thermally modified cellulosic material and a polymer. The invention also relates to a process for producing said composite product.

The present invention relates to a process for producing at least one ply of a paper or paperboard product which process comprises the steps of; subjecting cellulosic fibers to heat treatment wherein the fibers are treated at a high dry content and at an increased temperature, preparing a slurry comprising said heat treated fibers, forming a web of said slurry and, dewatering said web whereby a ply of said product is formed. The present invention further relates to a paper or paperboard product produced according to the process.

Process for producing at least one ply of a paper or paperboard product and a paper or paperboard product

The object of the invention is a liquid packaging board (), wherein the base board () is provided with at least one polymeric coating layer on both sides thereof to decrease the flavor scalping from a packaged liquid, such as citrus fruit juice. Inside the baseboard, there is a layer () of ethylene methyl acrylate copolymer either in a direct contact with the packaged liquid or coated with a thin layer of polyolefin. The invention also relates to a closed package for liquid food that is formed from the liquid packaging board () by folding and seaming, wherein the side that comes in contact with the food product, correspondingly, comprises an EMA layer and, possibly, a thin polyolefin layer on top of the same. The invention further comprises the use of EMA in decreasing the flavor scalping from the packaged liquid by the packaging material.
