A method and system for intercepting mobile apparatus of cellular radio system are disclosed. The method can include implementing, with an interrogation apparatus, a silent call with a mobile apparatus in a radio cell; implementing, with a mobile platform, at least three transmit radio beams each with a distinct transmission direction in relation to the mobile platform; receiving a measurement report from the mobile apparatus including received downlink power levels of the radio cell and at least one of the three transmit radio beams; receiving a geographical location of the mobile platform; obtaining a geographical orientation of the mobile platform; and calculating a geographical location of the mobile apparatus based on the received downlink power levels, the geographical location of the mobile platform, the distinct transmission directions, and the geographical orientation of the mobile platform.

Interception of mobile apparatus

A method receives signaling messages by a mobile apparatus at least from one base station of a cellular network, interprets a received signaling message, searches for an anomaly with at least one signaling parameter of the received signaling message from a first base station to a known comparison signaling parameter, gives an alert if the comparison gives an unequal result concerning at least one signaling parameter.

Blocking of service in cellular radio system. An apparatus comprises a processor configured to control a stand-alone base station so that an emulated cell is formed by transmitting a control channel with information of a real cell and with such a transmission power that a subscriber terminal of a cellular radio system is forced to camp in the emulated cell, and to control the stand-alone base station to block service from the subscriber terminal before an integrity protection process is performed between the stand-alone base station and the subscriber terminal.
