A method of managing a personalized data storage on a multi-function device (MFD), the method including receiving a request for a new personalized data entry, determining if available storage space exists on the personalized data storage, if available storage space does not exist on the personalized data storage, identifying an existing personalized data entry unused for a first predetermined period of time, determining a user associated with the existing personalized data entry, and sending a query to the user. In some embodiments, the personalized data entry is associated with a consolidated work-flow.

System and method for remote user interactive storage management for communal devices

A method for creating a consolidated work-flow on a multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the method is executed by a processor and includes monitoring user interactions with the MFD, determining that an interaction threshold is exceeded, creating the consolidated work-flow for a particular user interaction with the MFD, and creating a short-cut associated with the consolidated work-flow, wherein the short-cut is to be displayed on a user interface (UI) of the MFD, wherein the consolidated work-flow is executed when the short-cut is selected.

Apparatus and method for creating consolidated work flows on a multi-function device

A system for providing a memory for storing page mode parameters and a controller for providing images in optional page modes for producing a set of images with discrete elements of the set of images processed in a selected page mode independent of the page mode of other elements. This is accomplished by identifying elements of the set of images with page mode parameters and responding to the page mode parameters to alter the operation of the machine dependent upon the identified page mode parameters.

Scheduling page parameter variations for discrete job elements

A method and apparatus for assuring proper park positioning of a sheet gripper device. A reference signal is generated by a master control board causing the sheet gripper to commence its movement along the belts of a sheet transport system. An index marker and encoder coupled to a servo motor generate pulses based on the rotation of the shaft of the servo motor. A registration control board coupled to the servo motor generates an index interrupt after receipt of a predetermined number of pulses from the index marker. The number of rising and falling edges of a system clock that occur between the generation of the reference signal and the index interrupt is computed by the registration control board and sent to the master control board. The master control board compares this distance value to a predetermined resynchronization value. Based on the discrepancy between the two values, the master control board recalculates a park position value which is sent to the registration control board. The park position value is the amount of time that elapses after the sheet gripper has passed a gripper home sensor. Thus, recalculation of the park position value insures accurate park positioning prior to the performance of each job.
