A bearing assembly of a rotor of a wind turbine, namely for mounting the rotor in a fixed housing, includes: a plurality of rotor-side axial slide bearing segments, each configured to: engage on the rotor, rotate together with the rotor, and be supported against a sliding surface of the housing; a plurality of housing-side axial slide bearing segments, each configured to: engage on the housing, be fixed together with the housing, and be supported against a first sliding surface of the rotor; and a plurality of housing-side radial slide bearing segments, each configured to: engage on the housing, be fixed together with the housing and be supported against a second sliding surface of the rotor.

A bearing assembly of a rotor of a wind turbine, for mounting a shaft of the rotor in a fixed housing, wherein the shaft of the rotor is coupled to rotor blades of the rotor via a hub, includes: a plurality of first housing-side axial slide bearing segments engaging on the housing; a plurality of second housing-side axial slide bearing segments; a plurality of first housing-side radial slide bearing segments; and a plurality of second housing-side radial slide bearing segments. An axial distance between the first and second axial sliding surfaces of the rotor defines a bearing length l. The radial sliding surfaces of the rotor on which the first and second radial slide bearing segments are supported, define a bearing diameter d of the bearing assembly, and V&#x2264;1 applies to a ratio V=l/d between the bearing length l and the bearing diameter d.

A wind turbine, including a support structure and a thrust bearing having a bearing pad which includes a piston and which is movably connected to the support structure, a spring element which is configured to resiliently support the bearing pad relative to the support structure, wherein a pad portion of the bearing pad and/or the bearing pad itself is configured to tilt and to move translationally relative to the support structure, and wherein a gap is provided between the piston and the support structure. The piston limits the movement of the bearing pad. Thus, reliable and well defined movement limits are provided. Furthermore, a broad spectrum of spring parameters is available since the movement may be restricted by the piston and not necessarily be the spring element.
