A mixing machine includes a mixer body including a head portion that extends over a bowl receiving location. An output member extends downward from the head portion toward the bowl receiving location. A drive system is linked to the output member for effecting planetary rotation of the output member. A bowl guard support is at an underside of the head portion. The bowl guard support provides a circular support path in the form of a groove extending about a periphery of the bowl guard support. A bowl guard assembly includes a housing member and a catch member extending from a surface of the housing member. The catch member is received within the groove to maintain a vertical position of the bowl guard assembly while permitting rotation of the bowl guard assembly. The catch member is movable relative to the housing member and is biased into the groove to seat therein.

A mixing machine includes a base, a head including a rotatable output member for receiving a mixer tool and a support column extending vertically from the base to the head. A bowl receiving assembly is below the head. The bowl receiving assembly is configured to move vertically along the support column and defining a bowl receiving location. A bowl lock assembly includes a moveable bowl lock member carried by the bowl receiving assembly and having an unlock position and a lock position. The bowl lock assembly is configured such that placement of the bowl lock member in the unlock position or the lock position depends on a vertical position of the bowl receiving assembly.

A mixing machine includes a head including a rotatable output member for receiving a mixer tool. A mixer body includes a bowl receiving assembly below the head. The bowl receiving assembly includes a pair of bowl support arms extending outwardly from the mixer body to respective ends located at opposite sides of a bowl receiving location. Each bowl support arm includes a mount protrusion extending upwardly therefrom. The mount protrusions include a notch located at bases of the mount protrusions. The bowl receiving assembly is mounted for movement between a lowered position away from the head and a raised position toward the head. The bowl includes a keyway extending through a mount support, the keyway having an enlarged portion that receives the mount protrusion of one of the support arms and a necked-down portion that slides within the notch of the respective mount protrusion when the bowl is rotated.

A mixer system including a bowl for receiving a material to be mixed, a mixer body having a rotatable output component, and a hinge. The bowl is pivotable about the hinge relative to the mixer body such that the bowl can be pivoted between a loading/unloading position and a closed position relative the mixer body. The mixer may include a magnetic bowl detector and the bowl may include a magnet thereon.

A mixer may include one or more of (i) a readily installable and removable bowl guard member, (ii) a bowl guard sensor arrangement, (iii) a bowl guard support ring assembly including a plastic part and a metal part, (iv) a bowl guard support ring assembly and bowl guard member that interact for limiting movement of the bowl guard member.

Mixing apparatus

A mixing implement includes a body having a mixing portion and a connecting portion, the connecting portion having an upper shaft receiving opening formed therein and a side opening that leads to the shaft receiving opening, the shaft receiving opening having a drive pin receiving recess, the side opening and the drive pin receiving recess located substantially diametrically opposite each other with the side opening at a height corresponding to at least part of the drive pin receiving recess. A retainer is movably coupled with the connecting portion through the side opening and biased into an inward position in which an inner portion of the retainer is normally positioned within the shaft receiving opening, the retainer movable to an outward position in which the inner portion of the retainer is at least partially retracted from the shaft receiving opening.

A bowl scraper is configured for attachment to a rotatable mixing machine support such that forces exerted on the bowl scraper during scraping operations hold the bowl scraper in place. The bowl scraper includes an attachment arm including an upper arm portion and a lower arm portion, wherein the upper arm portion and the lower arm portion are formed by a bent elongated member. The upper arm portion includes an opening extending through the bent elongated member. The opening has a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of the opening being larger than the second portion of the opening. A scraper extends downward from the lower arm portion.

A mixing machine includes a power bowl lift mechanism that operates independent of a drive motor for mixing operations, and may be formed by a linear actuator. A pivoting motor mount assembly can be used in conjunction with a portable tensioning tool for tensioning a drive belt.

A mixing element for attachment to an output shaft of a mixer, the mixing element including a body having a mixing portion and a collar portion having an opening formed therein, the opening being shaped and located to receive the output shaft of a mixer therein. The mixing element further includes a retainer coupled to the body, the retainer being movable between an engaged position wherein at least part of the retainer protrudes into the opening and a disengaged position wherein the retainer does not protrude into the opening.
