The present invention relates to compounds of Formula (I) or an agronomically acceptable salt of said compounds wherein Q, R, R, n and m are as defined herein. The invention further relates to herbicidal compositions which comprise a compound of Formula (I) and to the use of compounds of Formula (I) for controlling weeds, in particular in crops of useful plants.

Herbicidal compounds

The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I): wherein: X is methyl or chlorine; Ris fluorine or bromine; Ris ethynyl, C-Calkoxy, C-Chaloalkoxy, or C-Calkoxy-C-Calkoxy-; and Q is a pyran-3,5-dione-4-yl, a thiopyran-3,5-dione-4-yl, a piperidine-3,5-dione-4-yl, a cyclopentane-1,3-dione-2-yl, a cyclohexane-1,3, 5-trione-2-yl, a cyclohexane-1,3-dione-2-yl, or a cycloheptane-1,3-dione-2-yl, or a derivative thereof (e.g. a fused such as fused bicyclic derivative, and/or a spirocyclic derivative), or an enol ketone tautomer derivative thereof, wherein Q is further defined herein; and wherein the compound of formula (I) is optionally present as an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof. Preferably, X is methyl; and/or Ris fluorine; and/or Ris &#x2014;O&#x2014;R, wherein Ris methyl, ethyl, trifluoromethyl, difluoromethyl, trifluoroethyl, or &#x2014;CHCHOCH. These compounds are suitable for use as herbicides. The invention therefore also relates to a method of controlling weeds, especially grassy monocotyledonous weeds, in crops of useful plants, comprising applying a compound of formula (I), or a herbicidal composition comprising such a compound, to the weeds and/or to the plants and/or to the locus thereof. 

Herbicidally active (alkynyl-phenyl)-substituted cyclic dione compounds and derivatives thereof

The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I): wherein: X is methyl or chlorine; Ris fluorine or bromine; Ris ethynyl, C-Calkoxy, C-Chaloalkoxy, or C-Calkoxy-C-Calkoxy-; and Q is a pyran-3,5-dione-4-yl, a thiopyran-3,5-dione-4-yl, a piperidine-3,5-dione-4-yl, a cyclohexane-1,3,5-trione-2-yl, a cyclohexane-1,3-dione-2-yl, a cycloheptane-1,3-dione-2-yl, in which each cyclic dione is bridged by alkanediyl, or a derivative thereof (e.g. an enol ketone tautomer derivative thereof), wherein Q is further defined herein; and wherein the compound of formula (I) is optionally present as an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof. Preferably, X is methyl; and/or Ris fluorine; and/or Ris &#x2014;O&#x2014;R, wherein Ris methyl, ethyl, trifluoromethyl, difluoromethyl, trifluoroethyl, or &#x2014;CHCHOCH. These compounds are suitable for use as herbicides. The invention therefore also relates to a method of controlling weeds, especially grassy monocotyledonous weeds, in crops of useful plants, comprising applying a compound of formula (I), or a herbicidal composition comprising such a compound, to the weeds and/or to the plants and/or to the locus thereof. 

The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I) wherein: wherein R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand G are as defined herein; and wherein the compound of formula (I) is optionally present as an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds are thought to be suitable for use as herbicides. The invention relates to pyrrolone compounds of the formula (I) wherein X, R, R, R, Rand Rare as defined in the specification. Furthermore, the present invention relates to processes and intermediates for making compounds of formula (I), to herbicidal compositions comprising these compounds and to methods of using these compounds to control plant growth. 

The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I): wherein the substituents are as defined herein, and wherein the compound of formula (I) is optionally present as an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds are thought to be suitable for use as herbicides. The invention therefore also relates to a method of controlling weeds, especially grassy monocotyledonous weeds, in crops of useful plants, comprising applying a compound of formula (I), or a herbicidal composition comprising such a compound, to the plants or to the locus thereof. 

Herbicidally active 2-(substituted-phenyl)-cyclopentane-1,3-dione compounds and derivatives thereof

Compounds of formula (I) wherein the substituents are as defined in claim, are suitable for use as herbicides. Also claimed is a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula I, wherein m is 2 and n is 1, and the other substituents are defined as in claim, formula (Ia) by reacting a compound of the formula Ia in a single step or stepwise in succession with compounds of the formula R&#x2014;X and/or R&#x2014;X, wherein Rand Rare as defined in claim, and X is a leaving group, and a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula I, wherein Ris C-Calkyl or halogen, m is 2 and n is 1, and the other substituents are defined as in claim, formula (Ib) by reacting a compound of the formula Ib with a compound of the formula R&#x2014;X, wherein Ris as defined in claim, and X is a leaving group, and a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula I, wherein Ris chlorine, bromine or iodine, m is 1 or 2, and n is 1, and the other substituents are defined as in claim, formula (Ic) by reacting a compound of the formula 1e with an N-halosuccinimide and an oxidising agent.
