Methods may be provided to operate a wireless terminal in communication with a base station. Such methods may include receiving a Radio Resource Control RRC message from the base station, wherein the RRC message includes information regarding at least one Quality of Service, QoS, flow being reflective and/or non-reflective. Such methods may also include providing communication of a data packet between the wireless terminal and the base station using a non-reflective QoS flow, wherein the data packet includes a data field and a Service Data Application Protocol SDAP header field with a QoS Flow Identity QFI, and wherein the QFI is used for the data packet based on the information from the RRC message. Methods of operating base stations and core network nodes may also be provided. Related wireless terminals, base stations, and core network nodes are also discussed.

Methods providing QFI harmonization between RAN and 5GC and related wireless terminals, base stations, and core network nodes

A method of operating a receiver in a communications network includes receiving a protocol data unit, PDU, from a transmitter, wherein the PDU carries at least part of a service data unit, SDU, determining that first and second non-adjacent segments of the SDU were not successfully received at the receiver, and requesting retransmission by the transmitter of a portion of the SDU from a beginning of the first non-adjacent segment to an end of the second non-adjacent segment.

Segment concatenation in radio link control status reports

Transmitters consider the size of a gap segment adjacent to at least one negatively acknowledged (NACKed) Radio Link Control (RLC) Service Data Unit (SDU) when considering when and/or how to concatenate one or more NACKed SDU segments for retransmission. Depending on which RLC SDU segment(s) is/are NACKed, e.g., considering the size of NACKed segments in relation to Protocol Data Unit (PDU) header size(s) needed, the transmitter implements a single RLC SDU retransmission or multiple RLC SDU segment retransmissions. In so doing, the solution presented herein not only defines how such transmissions occur, but also provides improved efficiency when retransmitting such NACKed SDU segments.

NR RLC segment concatenation

A method () for performing packet communication over a local network is disclosed, the local network connected to a cellular communication network via a gateway. The method comprises receiving configuration information specifying a condition for application of a local packet replication procedure () and determining if the condition is satisfied for a packet to be transmitted over the local network (). The method further comprises applying the local packet replication procedure to the packet to be transported over the local network if it is determined that the condition is satisfied for the packet (). The local packet replication procedure comprises generating a copy of the packet for transmission to the packet destination, and the local packet replication procedure is performed by at an application layer protocol. Also disclosed are a method () for managing packet communication over a local network, an apparatus () for performing packet communication over a local network and a manager ().

Methods and apparatus for packet communication over a local network using a local packet replication procedure

The proposed technology generally relates to radio resource management in wireless communication systems, which operate based on directive beams for serving one or more wireless user devices (). A basic idea is to process image information obtained from one or more image sensors () to predict a change in radio propagation characteristics between a network node () of the wireless communication system and a user device (), and to control a mobility reference signal for at least one directive beam in the wireless communication system and/or configure measurements of the mobility reference signal and/or configure reporting and/or processing of measurement results from measurements of the mobility reference signal, based on the predicted change in radio propagation characteristics.

Radio resource management in wireless communication systems

Radio equipment () is configured for use in a wireless communication system (). The radio equipment () transmits or receives a status report message () that includes a negative acknowledgement, NACK, sequence number, SN, field () and multiple different sets of segment offset, SO, fields (--N) related to the NACK SN field (). The different sets of SO fields (--N) may for instance indicate different respective service data unit, SDU, portions that have been detected as lost. These different respective SDU portions may be portions of the same SDU with a SN indicated by the NACK SN field ().
