A system for determining an indicator of an internal leakage current of a battery entity includes a voltage meter configured to be coupled to the battery entity and to measure a plurality of voltage values corresponding to the battery entity at a plurality of time instants. Further, the system includes an isolator configured to be coupled to each of a battery charger and an electricity consuming entity, as well as to electrically isolate the battery entity from each of the battery charger and the electricity consuming entity based on a control signal. Yet further, the system includes a controller electrically coupled to each of the voltage meter and the isolator the controller being configured to determine the indicator of an internal leakage current based on each of the plurality of voltage values.

Interaction based charging control is described. In an embodiment, a device is described, comprising: an interface configured to receive a charging power from another device; a sensor configured to detect interaction of the device; a charging controller configured to reduce the charging power in response to the detected interaction; in response to the reduced charging power, a processor configured to allow more processing power for the device. In other embodiments, a device comprising a sensor configured to detect a temperature of the device, and a method are discussed.

Interaction based charging control

A battery output disable when unconnected is described. In an implementation, a battery comprises: a conductive terminal configured to electrically connect to a battery-powered device; wherein the conductive terminal is disconnected from battery connector terminals; and a controller configured to detect whether the conductive terminal is grounded, and to enable the battery connector terminals if the conductive terminal is grounded and disable the battery connector terminals if the conductive terminal is not grounded. In other implementations, a battery protection circuit and a method are discussed.

Battery output disable when unconnected

In an embodiment, a device comprises a controller configured to create a load pulse for a battery, measure battery voltage concurrently with the load pulse, measure battery current concurrently with the load pulse, calculate a battery resistance from the measured battery voltage and current and based on the battery resistance, calculate a maximum allowable current extractable from the battery, wherein the maximum allowable current is determined such that a voltage across the battery does not drop below a pre-specified threshold voltage when the maximum allowable current is drawn from the battery.

Battery performance monitoring

A device includes a rechargeable battery and a charging line, connected to a terminal of the rechargeable battery, charging the rechargeable battery. The charging line includes two switching elements electrically opening or closing the charging line, and a sense line, connected to a terminal of the rechargeable battery, sensing a battery voltage. The sense line includes two switching elements electrically opening or closing the sense line.
