A method for controlling a frequency converter unit, the frequency converter unit containing an input connection for supplying electric power at an input frequency to the frequency converter unit, and an output connection for supplying electric power at an output frequency from the frequency converter unit, the method comprising a control step, in which the frequency converter unit is controlled by means of control signals. In the control step the control signals are supplied through an inductive connection to at least one wire connected to the input connection or the output connection of the frequency converter unit for transmitting electric power, the control signals being supplied to the frequency converter unit over the at least one wire.

Method for controlling frequency converter unit, and frequency converter assembly

A method and an arrangement are provided for controlling a sensorless permanent magnet synchronous machine using a frequency converter connected to feed the machine with electrical power. A current vector having a magnitude is produced to the stator of the machine with the frequency converter, and the current vector is rotated for rotating the rotor of the machine. Prior to starting the drive, a value is defined for the magnitude of the current vector and a frequency limit. The defined value is used as the magnitude of the current vector when the rotor of the machine is rotated with a frequency that is lower than the defined frequency limit. A vector control method is used for controlling the machine when the frequency of the machine is higher than or equal to the defined frequency limit.

Method and arrangement for controlling permanent magnet synchronous machines

A motor drive and a method in connection with a motor drive including a frequency converter are provided. The motor of the drive is connected to a load, and the motor is controlled with the frequency controller. The method includes the steps of converting changes in electrical quantities of the motor caused by actions affecting the load into observations representing the changes, selecting control symbols on the basis of matching of the sequences of observations with a set of valid patterns, and controlling the converter based on the selected symbols.

Control method for frequency converter

The present invention relates to a frequency converter comprising electric power supply devices for supplying electric power to an electric motor () to be connected to the frequency converter, a controller configured to control the electric power supply. In order to control the electric power supply, the frequency converter comprises a joystick () for conveying control signals to the controller, the joystick () comprising an acceleration sensor for registering movements of the joystick () and for generating control signals representing the movements, and a switch () for triggering a control cycle during which the controller receives the control signals generated by the joystick () for utilizing the control signals in controlling of the electric power supply.

Heated frequency converter assembly

A method and an arrangement are disclosed for monitoring connections of a switch intended for activating a safety function, the switch having at least two poles. The arrangement can supply voltages to first sides of two poles of the switch through first connections, and monitor the voltages supplied through the switch and further from second sides of the two poles of the switch to a device through second connections. The arrangement can form a voltage difference between the voltages to be supplied to the first sides of the two poles of the switch, and detect a connection failure when the difference between the voltages supplied to the device does not correspond with the formed voltage difference or when the difference between the voltages supplied to the device is substantially zero.
