A method for deploying a controller to an elevator system includes generating a request to at least one other controller for obtaining at least one parameter relating to a deployment of the controller to the elevator system, receiving a response, and in response to detection that the at least one parameter in the response comprises a set of operational parameters, initiating a configuration procedure, and in response to detection that the at least one parameter in the response does not comprise the set of operational parameters, deriving an identifier of the elevator system included as the at least one parameter in the response and generating a request including the identifier of the elevator system for obtaining the set of operational parameters. An elevator system is configured to perform the method.

Deployment of a controller in an elevator

There are provided measures for performing a configuration control in relation to an elevator, an escalator and automatic doors in a remote manner. Such measures exemplarily comprise determining a status of a component of said control apparatus, detecting whether a change with respect to said component has occurred based on said status, defining configuration parameters for said component, if it is detected that said change has occurred, and initiating transmission of said configuration parameters to said control apparatus.

Remote configuration of elevators, escalators and automatic doors

This invention includes a method and a node () for locating objects in a structured overlay peer-to-peer network (). Known distributed hash table DHT algorithms are not well suited for wild card searches. This problem has been solved by the current invention by using a node () configured with a finger table () and a stochastic selector () adapted to perform a stochastic search algorithm. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the stochastic search algorithm uses weighted probability values that are assigned to each established connection () between the node () and other nodes () in the overlay peer-to-peer network ().

Method and node for locating objects in a peer-to-peer network

An overlay network, node and application for load balanced service discovery. The application includes the steps of implementing the service discovery mechanism in the DHT P2P overlay network for finding a peer () that provides a desired service; a step of adding to a record structure () of the service discovery mechanism a maximum capacity parameter C() and a currently used capacity parameter C(); and a step of removing from the tree () a record of the peer () that provides the desired service when the currently used capacity reaches a predetermined capacity so that the peer is not contacted by other service clients.

Load balancing mechanism for service discovery mechanism in structured peer-to-peer overlay networks and method

System and method for balancing a number of incoming connections of nodes connected to a peer-to-peer network. The method includes receiving at a selecting node information about out-finger candidates. The information includes at least a quantifiable parameter for the out-finger candidates and the out-finger candidates are possible nodes to be connected to the selecting node. The method includes calculating in the selecting node, for each node of the out-finger candidates, a probability value by using a predetermined probability function that uses as input the corresponding quantifiable parameter; and selecting one node from the out-finger candidates to be an out-finger node for the selection node based on the probability value. The probability value is associated with a number of in-finger connections to the selected out-finger node.

Load balancing method and system for peer-to-peer networks

A method and apparatus each facilitate communication between users of a SIP-based network and SIP users external to that network. Each user of the SIP-based network possesses a SIP URI comprising a host name part belonging to the network and a user name part. The external users have access to a peer-to-peer network to resolve SIP URIs into contact IP addresses. The method comprises publishing into said peer-to-peer network a mapping between an identifier of a gateway to said SIP-based network and an IP address of the gateway. The identifier corresponds to or is derivable from said host name part. Upon receipt of a query at the gateway in respect of a URI associated with one of said users of said SIP-based network, the URI is resolved into a contact IP address. The contact IP address is returned to a node from which the query originated.

IP address discovery

An overlay network node is arranged to provide robust reply routing for requests and replies travelling over the network. Each node comprises first means which forwards each request originating in a source node and destined for destination node. The node comprises second means which redirect replies if the node from which the corresponding requests were received is no long accessible. The reply is, for example, turned into a request containing the reply as its payload and is returned towards the source node according to the rules used for forwarding the requests.

Apparatus for relaying packets between a first host and a second host and methods for sending packets between a first and second host are provided. The apparatus includes a memory for registering for the first host the following information: a relayed address of the first host, an address of the second host, and an outbound higher layer identifier and/or an inbound higher layer identifier. The apparatus further includes an outbound packet inspector for inspecting packets received from the first host and addressed to an address of the apparatus to determine whether they contain a registered outbound higher layer identifier and, if so, for forwarding the packets to the address of the second host and/or an inbound packet inspector for inspecting packets received from the second host and addressed to the relayed address to determine whether they contain a registered inbound higher layer identifier and, if so, for forwarding the packets to the address of the first host.

Method and apparatus for relaying packets

A method and apparatus for selecting a peer node in a P2P network. A requesting peer node in the P2P network requests geographical location information relating to a plurality of target peer nodes. In response to the request, the requesting node receives geographical location information for each target peer node. The requesting node uses the geographical location information and other information to select a target peer node. The request may either be sent to each target peer node, or to a central resource record peer node that maintains geographic location information for each target peer node. This allows target peer nodes to be selected on the basis of their location, and provides advantages in terms of trust depending on location, and allowed content depending on location.

Peer node selection in a peer to peer communication network

The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for locating services in a structured peer-to-peer distributed hash table, DHT, based, overlay communication network (). The invention comprises two inter-related methods and nodes. The first method is used by a service node () to 'advertise' to the overlay network () that it is providing a particular service (S). This is done by distributing instances () of a service object (O) that are stored in different nodes () in the overlay network () and where the instances () comprise an address to the service node (). The other method is to locate at least one of these instances () with a predetermined probability and with a predetermined number of location request messages () from a user node () wishing to use the particular service (S).
