A display device includes a lower substrate, a pixel defining layer, a light emitting layer, an upper substrate, and a light blocking layer. The pixel defining layer is disposed on the lower substrate and includes a first opening and a second opening spaced apart from the first opening in a first direction. The light emitting layer is disposed in each of the first opening and the second opening. The upper substrate is disposed on the light emitting layer. The light blocking layer is disposed on the upper substrate and includes a third opening partially exposing the first opening and a fourth opening partially exposing the second opening. A first shape in which the first opening is exposed by the third opening and a second shape in which the second opening is exposed by the fourth opening are symmetrical to each other about a line of symmetry in a plan view.

A display apparatus, includes: a first pixel, a second pixel, and a third pixel each configured to emit different colors; an organic light-emitting diode on a substrate and including a pixel electrode, an intermediate layer, and an opposite electrode; a black matrix on the organic light-emitting diode; a column spacer on the same layer as the black matrix and spaced apart from the black matrix by a first distance in a plan view; and a first quantum conversion layer on the substrate to correspond to an emission area of the first pixel and including first quantum dots.

A display device according to an embodiment may include a first substrate including an array of pixels, a second substrate coupled to the first substrate, and a sealing member between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate may include a base substrate including a display area overlapping the array of pixels and a peripheral area around the display area; a first compensation structure in the peripheral area, on the base substrate, at least partially overlapping the sealing member, and including an organic material; a second compensation structure in the peripheral area, on the base substrate, spaced apart from the first compensation structure, at least partially overlapping the sealing member, and including the same material as that of the first compensation structure, and a first capping layer covering the first and second compensation structures and including an inorganic material.

Display device

A display device may include a first transistor, a second transistor, a first electrode, a second electrode, a first optical filter, and a second optical filter. No intervening transistor may be positioned between the first transistor and the second transistor. The first electrode may be electrically connected to the first transistor. The second electrode may be electrically connected to the second transistor. The first optical filter may overlap the first electrode and may have a first circular perimeter in a plan view of the display device. The second optical filter may overlap the second electrode, may have a polygonal perimeter in the plan view of the display device, and may be spaced from the first optical filter.

A display apparatus for providing an image through an array of a plurality of pixels includes: an optical panel which converts light of the light-emitting panel into light of another color or transmit the light of the light-emitting panel. The optical panel includes: a substrate; a plurality of color filters arranged over the substrate; a first light-blocking layer arranged in the non-pixel area; a second light-blocking layer arranged in the non-pixel area and on the first light-blocking layer; and a color-converting layer and a transmission layer each overlapping a corresponding color filter from among the plurality of color filters in a plan view. Each of the first light-blocking layer and the second light-blocking layer defines a plurality of holes corresponding to the plurality of pixels, and a width of a hole of the second light-blocking layer is greater than a width of a hole of the first light-blocking layer.

A display apparatus includes a light source, a display panel, a light guide member, and an optical member. The light source is configured to generate light. The display panel is configured to display an image. The light guide member includes at least one surface adjacent to the light source. The optical member is between the light guide member and the display panel. The optical member includes a low refractive layer, a first cover layer, and a light conversion layer. The low refractive layer is on a light output surface of the light guide member and includes side surfaces. The first cover layer is on the low refractive layer and surrounds at least a portion of the side surfaces of the low refractive layer. The light conversion layer is on the first cover layer and is configured to covert a wavelength band of incident light.

Backlight unit, display apparatus including the same, and manufacturing method thereof

A display panel includes an upper display substrate including a first pixel area, a second pixel area, a third pixel area, and a light blocking area surrounding the first, second, and third pixel areas and a lower display substrate including a light emitting element. The upper display substrate includes a base substrate, a first bank overlapping the light blocking area and disposed on the base substrate, a second bank overlapping the light blocking area and disposed on the base substrate, a bridge bank disposed on the base substrate between the first bank and the second bank, and an organic material pattern at least a portion of which is disposed on the bridge bank forming a column spacer. The display panel has improved reliability.

Display panel and method of manufacturing the same

A color conversion panel includes a substrate that includes first to third pixel areas, a first color conversion layer on the substrate in the first pixel area that converts incident light into first color light, a second color conversion layer on the substrate in the second pixel area that converts the incident light into second color light, a first color filter layer between the substrate and the first color conversion layer that has the first color and blocks incident light not converted by the first color conversion layer, a second color filter layer between the substrate and the second color conversion layer that has a third color and blocks incident light not converted by the second color conversion layer, and a light shielding layer on the substrate between the second and the third pixel areas that has the first color.
