A method for associating a leak detector with an appliance includes receiving data from a leak detector; detecting a sound signature of the appliance based at least in part on the sound signal; identifying the appliance as one of a plurality of appliance types; and associating the leak detector with the one of the plurality of appliance types.

Method for associating a leak detector with an appliance

A method of provisioning a household appliance includes transmitting a signal from the household appliance to a remote user interface device and receiving, by the household appliance, an acknowledgement from the remote user interface device in response to the signal. The method also includes providing an indication on a user interface physically connected to the household appliance. The indication indicates an element of the user interface physically connected to the household appliance to select in order to cause the household appliance to enter commissioning mode.

Household appliance guided provisioning

A method of commissioning a domestic appliance may include receiving, from a user interface of an existing household appliance, a request to add a new household appliance to the user account. The method may further include scanning for the new household appliance with the existing household appliance and establishing a direct connection from the existing household appliance to the new household appliance. The method may still further include obtaining a provisioning token from a remote database with the existing household appliance and transmitting the provisioning token from the existing household appliance to the new household appliance via the direct connection.

Household appliance commissioning

Methods of provisioning a new household appliance using an existing household appliance are provided. The existing household appliance is connected to a wireless network and provisioned to a user account. A request to add the new household appliance is received by the existing household appliance. The new household appliance searches and/or scans for the existing household appliance. A direct connection is established by and between the existing household appliance and the new household appliance. Network credentials for the wireless network and a provisioning token for the user account are securely transmitted from the existing household appliance to the new household appliance over the direct connection. The new household appliance connects to the wireless network using the securely transmitted network credentials and associates with the user account using the securely transmitted provisioning token.
