Disclosed are a gas furnace and an air conditioner having the same. The gas furnace includes: a burner for burning fuel; a manifold providing the fuel to an entry of the burner; a heat exchanger spaced apart from an exit of the burner and providing a passage for combustion gas generated by the burner; an inducer for causing a fluid to flow through the burner and the heat exchanger; a blower for causing a flow of air passing around the heat exchanger; and an air shutter positioned between the manifold and the entry of the burner. The air shutter includes: a housing having an inner space that communicates with the manifold and the entry of the burner; and a primary hole formed to penetrate the housing and able to be opened and closed.

Gas furnace and air conditioner having the same

Disclosed are a gas furnace and an air conditioner having the same. The gas furnace includes: a burner for burning fuel; a heat exchanger extending long and providing a passage for combustion gas generated by the burner; a blower for causing a flow of air passing around the heat exchanger; and a plurality of guides passing through the heat exchanger and spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes: a first tube forming an entry of the heat exchanger; a second tube forming an exit of the heat exchanger and spaced apart from the first tube in a direction crossing the longitudinal direction of the heat exchanger; and a bend connecting the first tube and the second tube. The plurality of guides is alternately disposed in a direction in which the first tube and the second tube are spaced apart from each other.

A ventilation apparatus includes a housing; a case accommodated in the housing and including a main case having a suction passage for guiding outdoor air into an indoor and an exhaust passage for guiding indoor air to an outdoor and formed by crossing the suction passage, and a lower case coupled to a lower side of the main case; a ventilation module disposed at a position inside the main case where the suction passage and the exhaust passage cross each other, and including at least a total heat exchange element for heat exchange between outdoor air and indoor air without mixing; a suction fan module placed on the suction passage to suck outdoor air; an exhaust fan module placed on the exhaust passage to suck indoor air; and an evaporator placed on the suction passage at a position between the ventilation module and the suction fan module.

A method for controlling a gas furnace including measuring an indoor temperature, comparing the indoor temperature with a set temperature for heating, and operating the gas furnace in weak heating with a predetermined heating capacity, which is lower than a maximum heating capacity of the gas furnace, when the set temperature for heating is higher than the indoor temperature by a temperature value, which is less than a predetermined temperature value. The predetermined heating capacity for weak heating is maintained at a current heating capacity for weak heating, when the gas furnace operates in weak heating, and when an operating duration with the current heating capacity for weak heating is less than a first time value.

A method of controlling an RPM of a blower for a gas furnace that passes air to be supplied to a room around a heat exchanger of a gas furnace, the method including starting operation of the gas furnace; measuring an air temperature in an outlet side of the gas furnace; measuring the RPM of the blower; determining whether the air temperature falls within a reference temperature range; and adjusting the RPM of the blower such that the air temperature falls within the reference temperature range.

A gas furnace according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a mixer for mixing air and a fuel gas, which are introduced through an intake pipe and a manifold, respectively, to form a mixture; a mixing pipe through which the mixture, having passed through the mixer, flows; a burner assembly for producing a combustion gas by burning the mixture having passed through the mixing pipe; and heat exchangers through which the combustion gas flows, wherein the burner assembly includes: a plurality of burners, to which a flame produced during combustion of the mixture is anchored; a mixing chamber serving as a medium for delivering the mixture from the mixing pipe to the burners. Accordingly, a full premixing mechanism may be provided, and a mixing rate of the fuel gas and the air may be maximized, thereby greatly reducing nitrogen oxide emissions. Further, the burner assembly includes a uniform guide disposed inside the mixing chamber and allowing the mixture to be uniformly distributed to each of the plurality of burners, thereby preventing an increase in local flame temperature, and greatly reducing nitrogen oxide emissions.

Gas furnace

A gas furnace includes: a burner in which a mixture of air and fuel gas burns; a heat exchanger through which a combustion gas produced by the combustion of the mixture flows; a duct including a room air duct through which air coming from a room passes and a supply air duct through which air supplied to the room passes; a blower that induces a flow of the room air supplied as the supply air to the room through the heat exchanger; and a humidification and dehumidification device with no water supply installed on one side of the supply air duct. The amount of moisture contained in the supply air is adjusted by an adsorbent coated on the surface of the humidification and dehumidification device with no water supply.

An air conditioner is provided. The air conditioner includes a heat exchange module, at least one humidity sensor, and a controller. The heat exchange module includes a compressor, a first heat exchanger, an expansion valve, a second heat exchanger, and an absorbent disposed on an outer surface of the first and second heat exchangers. The controller is configured to control to stop a normal operation and perform a drying operation for supplying air to any one of the first and second heat exchangers serving as an evaporator when it is determined that a predetermined drying operation condition is satisfied based on humidity information of air passed through the any one of the first and second heat exchangers serving as the evaporator, during the normal operation in which the any one of the first and second heat exchangers serves as an evaporator and the other serves as a condenser.

Controlling drying conditions to maintain humidity levels during HVAC operation

A gas furnace according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a mixer for mixing air and a fuel gas, which are introduced through an intake pipe and a manifold, respectively, to form a mixture; a mixing pipe through which the mixture, having passed through the mixer, flows; a burner assembly for producing a combustion gas by burning the mixture having passed through the mixing pipe; a heat exchanger through which the combustion gas flows; an exhaust pipe through which an exhaust gas, as the combustion gas having passed through the heat exchanger, is discharged outside of the gas furnace; and an inducer for inducing a flow of a fluid through the intake pipe, the mixer, the mixing pipe, the burner assembly, the heat exchanger, and the exhaust pipe. In this case, the mixer has a front end connected to the intake pipe, a rear end connected to the mixing pipe, and a side surface connected to the manifold.

A gas furnace is provided. The gas furnace includes a combustion part in which a fuel gas is burnt to generate a combustion gas, a heat exchanger having a gas flow path through which the combustion gas flows, a blower configured to blow air around the heat exchanger, and an inducer configured to discharge the combustion gas from the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes at least one single path in which a single gas flow path is formed a single-multiple return bend configured to communicate with the single path and convert a flow direction of the combustion gas, and at least one multiple path having a plurality of paths that communicate with the single-multiple return bend and form multiple gas flow paths.

A method of controlling a gas furnace comprising a gas valve for supplying a fuel gas to a manifold; a burner through which the fuel gas discharged from the manifold passes; an igniter for igniting a mixture of fuel gas passed through the burner and air; and an inducer for generating a flow in which a combustion gas generated by the burning of the mixture is discharged to an exhaust pipe via a heat exchanger, wherein the gas furnace performs a heating operation according to a heating signal or a heating stop according to a stop signal, includes the steps of: (a) receiving any one of the heating signal or the stop signal; (b) transmitting a signal to operate the inducer when the heating signal is received; (c) operating the igniter; (d) transmitting a signal to open the gas valve; (e) detecting whether the gas valve is opened or closed; (f) detecting a flow rate of the fuel gas in the manifold; and (g) displaying a normal operation of the heating operation, based on information detected in the steps (e) and (f).

The present disclosure relates to a condensate trap for a gas furnace for collecting and discharging condensate generated in a heat exchanger and an exhaust pipe, the condensate trap including: a first inlet through which the condensate generated in the heat exchanger is introduced; a second inlet through which the condensate generated in the exhaust pipe is introduced; a first passage through which the condensate introduced from the first inlet passes; a second passage through which the condensate introduced from the second inlet passes; a discharge port through which the condensate, having passed through the first passage and the second passage, is discharged outside; and a backflow prevention device disposed on the first passage and configured to prevent backflow of air, wherein the backflow prevention device includes: a housing; and a core which is movably disposed in the housing, and which in response to an amount of the condensate introduced from the first inlet being less than or equal to a predetermined amount, prevents backflow of the air by closing the first passage.
