The organic electroluminescent device includes a sealing layer which is formed on a sealing substrate, and which includes a cohesion layer, a transparent polymer layer, and a transparent moisture absorption layer. Since the transparent moisture absorption layer of the organic electroluminescent device is provided to a sealing substrate using an attaching method, the organic electroluminescent device has an improved life span property due to a firm sealed structure and better light extraction efficiency due to the transparent moisture absorption layer below the sealing substrate.

A full-color organic light emitting display (OLED) and method of fabricating the same. The display includes a substrate with a pixel electrode, an organic layer having at least an emission layer, and an opposite electrode formed thereon. An encapsulation substrate has formed thereon an organic emission layer that emits light of a single color and a black matrix that defines emission regions. A moisture absorbent material and one of color filter layers and color change mediums are formed between the black matrixes to correspond to the emission layer. The method of making alleviates the need for a separate processes for treating the moisture absorbent material and for forming the color filter layers or the color change mediums using a shadow mask.

An organic electroluminescent display device and a method of preparing the same are provided. The organic electroluminescent display device may include a first electrode formed on a substrate. A second electrode may be formed so as to be insulated from the first electrode. One or more organic layers may be interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and include at least an emission layer. A protective layer may be formed so as to cover the second electrode. The protective layer may have a surface roughness (rms) of about 5 &#x212b; to about 50 &#x212b;. The organic electroluminescent display device including a protective layer having a low surface roughness may benefit from superior lifespan characteristics.

The device includes a plurality of self-luminant devices, each of which includes at least a light emitting layer, formed on every pixel, and a lens sheet having a plurality of condensing lenses that correspond to the self-luminant devices and direct the light emitted from the self-luminant devices toward a predetermined direction. A distance between the light emitting layer and an exterior portion of the condensing lens in the direction of propagation of the light is between 50 and 500 microns so as not to overlap images of neighboring sub-pixels, that are expanded by the condensing lenses. Therefore, a lowering of image sharpness that is caused by the condensing lenses can be prevented, while a light coupling efficiency and a brightness are improved.

An organic light-emitting device is provided that includes an emission layer containing a phosphorescent dopant and a bipolar phosphorescent host interposed between a first electrode and a second electrode. The bipolar phosphorescent host is a compound represented by formula 1:A&#x2014;C&#x2014;B&#x2003;&#x2003;(1) where A is a hole transport unit, B is an electron transport unit, and C is a bond or a linking group. The bipolar compound can transport both holes and electrons. The organic light-emitting device has high efficiency and a long lifetime.

The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent display device and a method of preparing the same. The organic electroluminescent display device may include a first electrode formed on a substrate. A second electrode may be formed so as to be insulated from the first electrode. One or more organic layers may be interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and include at least an emission layer. One layer or a plurality of layers may be formed on the second electrode and comprise a material or materials having a refractive index higher than a refractive index used to form a material that comprise the second electrode. An organic electroluminescent display device fabricated in this matter has improved efficiency of light extraction. Such a device also resists infiltration of moisture and oxygen to a luminous part of the device that includes the first electrode, the second electrode, and the organic layer.

Organic electroluminescent display device having a photonic crystal layer provided over electroluminescent stack

An organic electroluminescent display device improves driving characteristics at a high temperature and storage characteristics of the organic electroluminescent display device, and prevents pixel contraction phenomena of the device by providing an organic electroluminescent display device comprising a substrate, a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the substrate, and an organic film layer comprising at least one emitting layer between the first electrode and the second electrode. The emitting layer includes at least one phosphorescent dopant, and the dopant is represented by L3M or L2ML', wherein the M is a transition metal selected from the group consisting of Ir, Pt, Zn and Os, the L and L&#x2032; are bidendate ligands coordinated with carbon and nitrogen, and at least one of the L and L&#x2032; has 15 or more carbon atoms in the ligand.

Organic electroluminescent display device having superior characteristics at high temperature

An organic light emitting display device may include: a substrate having first, second and third pixel regions. A first electrode layer may be formed in each of the first, second and third pixel regions on the substrate. A hole injection layer may be formed over an entire surface of the substrate on the first electrode layers. A first hole transport layer may be formed on the first electrode layers in the first, second and third pixel region. A second hole transport layer may be formed on the first hole transport layer in any two adjacent pixel regions among the first, second and third pixel regions. A third hole transport layer may be formed on the second hole transport layer in any one of the two adjacent pixel region. A first, second and third organic emission layers may be formed on the first, second and third hole transport layer. A second electrode layer may be formed on the first, second and third organic emission layers. An OLED configured in this or a similar manner benefits from uniform operating characteristics and reducing tac time.
