A data storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device including a plurality of memory blocks and a controller for controlling the nonvolatile memory device. A plurality of management blocks includes first and second management blocks managed by the controller. The second management block stores start data and then stores integrity data. The first management block stores a storage location of the second management block. An integrity checker checks integrity of data associated with the first and second management blocks.

Data storage device and operating method thereof

Provided is a memory system and a method of operating the same. The memory system may include a memory device configured to store data; and a memory controller configured to control the memory device such that various operations including a program operation are performed in response to a request from a host, wherein the memory controller comprises: an internal memory configured to store system information; and a central processing unit (CPU) configured to control the memory device such that, when a sudden power off (SPO) occurs during the program operation of the memory device, debugging information related to system information is stored at a location in the memory device where the program operation is interrupted.

Memory system and method of operating the same

A data storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device and a controller which controls the nonvolatile memory device. When the data storage device is powered on after a sudden power off (SPO), the controller detects an erased page by scanning, without decoding, a first system data block of a nonvolatile memory device, performs simple decoding for first system data of first system pages before the erased page, and, if the simple decoding is a fail, recovers the first system data for which the simple decoding failed, by reading out second system data from corresponding second system pages of a second system data block as a duplicate block of the first system data block.

Provided herein may be a storage device and a method of operating the storage device. The storage device includes a memory device including a plurality of system blocks; and a memory controller configured to perform a read reclaim operation of copying system data stored in a selected system block to another one of the plurality of system blocks using information obtained during loading of the system data into the selected system block.

A data storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device including a plurality of memory blocks each of which includes a plurality of regions; and a controller suitable for controlling the nonvolatile memory device, the controller comprising: a block designation unit suitable for performing a leveldesignation operation, by storing start data in a levelmanagement block among the memory blocks, storing a location of the levelmanagement block in a levelmanagement block among the memory blocks, and storing integrity check data in the levelmanagement block; and a recovery unit suitable for performing a recovery operation to the levelmanagement block depending on a state of a current levelmanagement block corresponding to a last location stored in the levelmanagement block in the case where a sudden power-off occurs.
