A medical fluid therapy system having a multi-state alarm feature is disclosed. An example medical fluid therapy system includes a pumping apparatus configured to pump a medical fluid from a fluid container. The example system also includes a processor configured to generate a first alarm signal associated with a first low level event of the medical fluid in the fluid container, generate a second alarm signal associated with a second low level event of the medical fluid in the fluid container, and receive an activation of a snooze element for deactivating the first alarm signal after the first low level event has occurred and enabling the second alarm signal to be activated upon occurrence of the second low level event. The system further includes a server configured to receive and route at least one of the first alarm signal or the second alarm signal for display at a user device.

Medical fluid therapy system having multi-state alarm feature

A medical fluid therapy system includes a medical fluid pumping apparatus; a first medical fluid container holding a first medical fluid and including a first line extending to the pumping apparatus; a second medical fluid container holding a second medical fluid and including a second line extending to the pumping apparatus; and an alarm feature provided with the pumping apparatus and including a first alarm signal associated with a first low level event of the first or second fluid, a second alarm signal associated with a second low level event of the first or second fluid, and a snooze element configured to deactivate the first alarm signal after the first low level event has occurred and to enable the second alarm level to be activated upon occurrence of the second low level event.

A controller for a programmable medical pump is configured to select a drug library file that corresponds to a received medication name and determine a number of times status information is received within a designated time period from a current time during an infusion therapy. The example controller is also configured to determine if the number of times the status information is received comports with an accumulated medication dosage limit using a dose per administration program parameter. Responsive to the number of times the status information is received matching or exceeding the accumulated medication dosage limit, the controller is configured to prevent another administration of the medication until enough time has passed such that the number of times the status information has been received within the designated time period from the current time is less than the accumulated medication dosage limit.

Methods and apparatus for programming a medical pump

A medical fluid delivery system includes an infusion pump configured to deliver medical fluid to a patient according to at least one treatment parameter, and an alarm feature associated with the infusion pump, the alarm feature including (i) a first alarm signal associated with a first event relating to the at least one treatment parameter, (ii) a second alarm signal associated with a second event relating to the at least one treatment parameter, the second alarm signal discernable from the first alarm signal, and (iii) a snooze element configured to deactivate the first alarm signal after the first event has occurred and to enable the second alarm signal to be activated upon occurrence of the second event.

Multi-state alarm system for a medical pump

A controller for a programmable medical pump comprises a memory including a plurality of preloaded infusion therapies, each preloaded infusion therapy including a plurality of program parameters. The controller also includes a device receiving a selection of one of the preloaded infusion therapies, profile data corresponding to a specific patient, and values for the program parameters. The controller further includes a processor configured to determine which of the plurality of program parameters to associate with the selected preloaded infusion therapy, determine limits for the associated program parameters based upon the selected preloaded infusion therapy and the profile data, determine if the received values of program parameters exceed the determined limits, and responsive to determining that the values of the program parameters are within the determined limits, cause the selected preloaded infusion therapy to be administered via the medical pump using the received values for the program parameters.

An alarm system () for a medical pump () associated with delivering a fluid () to a patient in connection with treatment of the patient is provided. The alarm system () comprises an alarm () associated with at least one treatment parameter. The alarm () includes a first alarm state () associated with a first event relating to the treatment parameter and a second alarm state () associated with a second event. The second alarm state () is discernable from the first alarm state (), which will allow each of the events to be treated differently by a caregiver.

Apparatus and method for therapeutic delivery of medication

A medical delivery system () is provided for delivering a medicament () or fluid () to a patient. The system comprises a disposable element such as a line set () associated with a container () containing the fluid (), an identifier () associated with the line set () and having identification information associated therewith, and a delivery device () configured to engage the line set () and deliver the fluid () to the patient.
