The present invention provides a water- and oil-repellent soil-resistant composition comprising (A) a fluorine-containing polymer having repeating units derived from a monomer comprising a fluorine-containing monomer and (B) a silane compound. The water- and oil-repellent soil-resistant composition comprising the fluorine-containing acrylate polymer can impart the excellent water- and oil-repellency and soil resistance to the porous substrate and is free from an organic solvent.

Method of preparing water- and oil-repellent soil-resistant composition

Resin modified elastomers

This invention pertains to silicone core-shell or gel particles that contain active ingredients. The silicone particles are produced by emulsifying and reacting a composition comprising a siloxane have a first reactive group, a crosslinker having a second reactive group, at least one emulsion liquid, a surfactant and an active ingredient. The active ingredient is encapsulated in the silicone particle and are useful in personal care products, textiles, auto care products, and laundry products for the delivery of active ingredients.

Silicone elastomers compositions

This invention related to silicone elastomer compositions in the form of gels and/or organized structures. The silicone elastomer compositions are produced by reacting a siloxane having a first reactive group with a crosslinker having a second reactive group in a diluent. One reactive group is selected from epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups while the other reactive group is a functional group that reacts with epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups (i.e. amine, hydroxyl). The silicone elastomer compositions of the instant invention are particularly useful in personal care products, textiles, auto care products, and laundry products and for the delivery of active ingredients.

Silicone elastomer compositions

Three-dimensional silicone elastomers having polyether and higher alkyl functionality in their molecules form networks of crosslinked linear siloxanes with polyether and olefin containing repeating units, and these silicone elastomers can be used as emulsifiers for making O/O and three-phase aqueous emulsions. One of the oil phases is a silicone oil, while the other oil phase is an organic oil such as mineral oil or castor oil. These emulsions of two and three mutually insoluble liquids are useful in personal and health care applications.

Oil-in-oil and three-phase emulsions

A new composition of matter is a blend of (i) a crosslinked elastomeric silicone polyether and (ii) a crosslinked elastomeric silicone containing alkyl groups having 3-40 carbon atoms. The new composition can be used in preparing water-in-oil emulsions, and clear solutions containing an oil(s) or an oil-soluble active ingredient(s).

Mixtures of silicone elastomers

One composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil emulsion containing a non-aqueous polar solvent phase dispersed in a silicone oil continuous phase by an emulsifier. A second composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-water multiple emulsion of the type PS,/O/W which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS,dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS,/O by an emulsifier. The primary emulsion PS,/O is dispersed in a second continuous aqueous phase W to form multiple emulsion PS,/O/W. A third composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-non-aqueous polar solvent multiple emulsion of the type PS,/O/PS,which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS,dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS,/O by an emulsifier. The primary emulsion PS,/O is dispersed in a second continuous non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS,to form multiple emulsion PS,/O/PS,.

Polar solvent-in-oil emulsions and multiple emulsions

Oil-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin E can be entrapped in the oil phase of an elastomeric silicone polyether. The vitamin entrapped oil phase can then be emulsified and stabilized without requiring the use of other surfactants. The vitamin entrapped oil phase and water-in-oil emulsions prepared from the vitamin entrapped oil phase are useful in water-based skin and cosmetic compositions.

Entrapment of vitamins with an elastomeric silicone polyether

Three-dimensional silicone elastomers having both polyether and higher alkyl functionality present in their molecules are in the form of networks of crosslinked linear siloxanes with polyether and olefin containing repeating units. Representative units are EO,and EO,for the polyether functionality, and C,, C,, and C,alkyl functionality for the olefin. These gelled molecules are multipurpose type materials, and consequently they are capable of being useful in a variety of multiphased formulations in personal and health care applications.

Elastomeric silicone terpolymer

Elastomeric silicones, especially elastomeric silicone polyethers, are prepared by combining and reacting (A) an &equiv;Si&mdash;H containing polysiloxane, (B) a mono-alkenyl polyether, (C) an active ingredient such as a vitamin, antimicrobial agent, sunburn prevention agent, astringent, or sex hormone, (D) an &agr;,&ohgr;-unsaturated hydrocarbon, (E) a platinum catalyst, and (F) an oil. The reaction of components (A)-(F) is allowed to continue, forming a crosslinked three-dimensional gelled network of the elastomeric silicone polyether containing the active ingredient and the oil. The compositions are useful in personal and health care applications, personal hygiene, and household cleaning applications.

Elastomeric silicone containing an active ingredient

One composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil emulsion containing a non-aqueous polar solvent phase dispersed in a silicone oil continuous phase by an emulsifier. A second composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-water multiple emulsion of the type PS.sub.1 /O/w which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS.sub.1 dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O by an emulsifier. The primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O is dispersed in a second continuous aqueous phase W to form multiple emulsion PS.sub.1 /O/W. A third composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-non-aqueous polar solvent multiple emulsion of the type PS.sub.1 /O/PS.sub.2 which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS.sub.1 dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O by an emulsifier. The primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O is dispersed in a second continuous non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS.sub.2 to form multiple emulsion PS.sub.1 /O/PS.sub.2.

A composition contains (A) a silicone component which is an aqueous oil-in-water microemulsion containing a polysiloxane stabilized in the microemulsion by a cationic surfactant, and (B) a inorganic salt or an organic salt. The polysiloxane in the cationic microemulsion has a particle diameter of less than about 100 nanometer, preferably less than about 40 nanometer. The polysiloxane is a polydimethylsiloxane or an amine functional polysiloxane, preferably prepared by emulsion polymerization. The composition preferably contains at least about twenty percent by weight of the salt.

Salt stable cationic silicone oil-in-water microemulsion

A composition is formed by combining water with an organic polymer such as polybutylene or an alkyd resin, and an alkoxysilane of the formula R.sub.n Si(OR').sub.4-n where R is an alkyl radical of 1-10 carbon atoms, an alkenyl radical having 2-8 carbon atoms, phenyl, chloropropyl, or trifluoropropyl, n is 1 or 2, and R' is an alkyl radical having 1-6 carbon atoms. The composition is free of amine or quaternary ammonium functional silanes. It can be emulsified and used to treat a cellulosic or masonry surface to render it water repellent.
