A device for moving contents of a tube by acting on the exterior of the tube is provided. The device includes a housing having a tube passageway extending along a length thereof for holding a tube therein. A first roller and a second roller are moveable between a first position and a second position and configured to compress the tube in the second position. A first roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the first roller therein and a second roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the second roller therein. The first and second roller chassis are moveable between a first position in which the tube is disengaged and a second position in which the tube is engaged. A lever operably coupled to the housing causes the first or second roller to pivot and engage the tube positioned within the passageway.

A device for moving contents of a tube by acting on the exterior of the tube is provided. The device includes a housing having a tube passageway extending along a length thereof for holding a tube therein. A first roller and a second roller are moveable between a first position and a second position and configured to compress the tube in the second position. A first roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the first roller therein and a second roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the second roller therein. The first and second roller chasses are moveable between a first position in which the tube is disengaged and a second position in which the tube is engaged. A lever operably coupled to the housing causes the first or second roller to pivot and engage the tube positioned within the passageway.

A tissue marking system for marking a tissue sample includes at least one container and at least one ink stored in the container. The at least one ink may include a plurality of inks each of a different colored and may be sterile or non-sterile. The ink has a viscosity of from 85 ku to 115 ku such that when applied to a tissue surface having adjacent tissue margins, the ink does not migrate onto an adjacent tissue surface.

Tissue marking system

An ink composition for marking a tissue specimen is provided. The ink composition has a general formula of 30.0 wt. % to 54.0 wt. % of an alkali soluble styrene; 0.3 wt. % to 1.7 wt. % ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose; 8.0 wt. % to 35.0 wt. % colorant; 0.0 wt. % to 13.0 wt. % pigment; 23.0 wt. % to 47.0 wt. % deionized water; 0.35 wt. % to 1.65% defoamer and 0.1 wt. % to 1.1 wt. % preservative. The inks in accordance with the invention may have a peak transmission in the visible spectrum at a wavelength of from 322 nm to 716 nm or having a lineal UV-Vis spectrum with no visible peak transmission between 250 nm and 950 nm. When applied to a tissue specimen the ink compositions do not bleed onto adjacent tissue margins. When view under a microscope the color of the ink compositions can be distinguished from each other.

Ink for marking a tissue specimen

A device for moving contents of a tube by acting on the exterior of the tube is provided. The device includes a housing having a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion including a tube passageway extending along a length thereof for holding a tube therein. A roller housed within a roller chassis contacts the tube and is configured to move between a first position in which the tube is disengaged and a second position in which the tube is engaged. A second roller is rotatably coupled to an actuator for rotatably energizing the second roller and is moveable between a first position in which the tube is disengaged and a second position in which the tube is engaged. A lever is operably coupled to the housing and configured to actuate a motor to move the second roller to the second position. The first roller and the second roller are configured to compress the tube to move contents within the tube.

A single-use tissue marking system for use in marking a tissue sample includes a container and a first number of ink reservoirs at least partially defined by the container. Each reservoir contains ink of a different color. The system also includes a second number of applicators. Each applicator is configured to absorb a quantity of ink for application to the tissue sample. A cover is coupled to and cooperates with the container to fully enclose each of the first number of ink reservoirs.

A tissue marking system for use in marking a tissue sample comprises an ink-based applicator device and at least one tissue marking clip. The ink-based applicator device includes a container, a first number of ink reservoirs at least partially defined by the container, wherein each reservoir contains ink of a different color, a second number of applicators, wherein each applicator is configured to absorb a quantity of ink for application to the tissue sample, and a cover coupled to and cooperating with the container to fully enclose each of the first number of ink reservoirs. The at least one tissue marking clip includes an actuator portion movable between an actuated position and a non-actuated position, and a jaw portion coupled to the actuator portion and movable between an open position and a closed position in response to movement of the actuator portion between the actuated and non-actuated positions.
