Information is transmitted between a base station and other transceiver stations in a radio communication system within a common frequency channel in the downlink and uplink. At least one switching time is established in this case between the downlink and uplink. These bursts can be configured for the highest possible spectral efficiency in accordance with the rules of mobile radio telephony. However, a burst of shortened duration is transmitted before and/or after the switching time. In TDD transmission systems, this, therefore, prevents the receiving and transmitting operation from overlapping for the switching time due to disadvantageous relative signal propagation times.

Method and radio communications system for transmitting information between a base station and other radio stations

According to the invention, a first portion of the timeslots is allocated to a first base station and a second portion of the timeslots is allocated to a second base station, in particular, in the downlink direction of a radio communications system having a TDD frame structure and broadband radio transmission with CDMA subscriber separation. The interference between adjacent base stations is thus considerably reduced without the assistance of any FDMA component, that is to say, in the worst case, for a radio communications system having a frequency reuse cluster of unity.

Method and base station system for channel allocation in a radio communication system

A method for allocating radio channels in a radio communications system having timeslots includes the steps of allocating the radio channel for the downlink direction to a mobile station as a function of a channel allocation pattern which indicates the transmission power levels for the timeslots. The mobile station corrects the allocation of the radio channel as a function of an interference pattern which indicates the interference power levels in the timeslots. The allocation process results in the transmission power level being distributed as uniformly as possible between the timeslots which are provided for a connection from the radio station in the downlink direction, wherein the allocation process is a function of the occupancy of the timeslots in accordance with the channel allocation pattern. The ability of correcting the allocated timeslot under the control of the mobile station allows to avoid a disadvantageous soft handover, even with a frequency repetition interval equal to unity which is critical with respect to interference.
