A method of aligning a rubber blanket formed with register cut-outs, relative to a clamping device having register pins, for clamping the rubber blanket onto a cylinder, includes bringing the register cut-outs formed in the rubber cylinder into contact with the register pins of the clamping device when the clamping device has been applied to the cylinder.

A pressing device for a printing press or varnishing machine includes a pressing roller for rolling a cylinder packing or dressing onto a circumferential surface of a cylinder, and a finger protection device including a first flap and a second flap connected to the first flap via a swivel joint. The first flap is formed as a pressing element for pressing the cylinder packing on the cylinder. The first flap, in a protective position thereof, covers an inlet wedge or pocket jointly formed by the pressing roller and the cylinder. A printing press or varnishing machine having the pressing device is also provided.

A method for locking a cylinder dressing on a printing machine cylinder, including adjusting a first clamping bar for holding the cylinder dressing, and a second clamping bar for likewise holding the cylinder dressing, towards one another in respective tautening directions thereof, further includes adjusting the two clamping bars by actuating the same adjusting member, so that, when locking the cylinder dressing, in a first method step, only the first clamping bar is adjusted and, in a second method step, the two clamping bars are adjusted simultaneously, a device for performing the method, and a printing machine including the device.

A clamping device for firmly clamping a cylinder packing or covering on a printing machine cylinder, the clamping device having a clamping seat, a clamping jaw cooperating therewith, and an eccentric shaft, includes a support wherein the eccentric shaft and the clamping jaw are jointly mounted, the support being adjustable alternatively into a first support position and into a second support position relative to the clamping seat; and a printing machine having at least one clamping device with the foregoing construction.
