A door lock ( ) which is conceived in particular for use in motor vehicle doors has a rotary latch ( ) and a closing aid ( ) which acts on the latter and, with the aid of a drive, carries along the door to be closed in to the closed position. Known door locks having a closing aid have an increased space requirement and cannot readily be accommodated in structurally predetermined constructional spaces. The invention provides the drive of the closing aid such that it is separated structurally from the door lock ( ) and provides a flexible drive element for transmitting force from the drive to the rotary latch ( ). If appropriate, a deflection roller ( ) may be provided and may be designed such that it is movable in order to bring about an auxiliary opening.

Door lock having a closing aid

A closure device, especially for vehicle doors, possesses a rotary latch interacting with a closure pin, a releasable ratchet for arresting the door, and a motor-driven shutting aid, which moves the door into the closed position. A problem from safety aspects is activating the shutting aid if fingers or articles are still located between the door and the bodywork. In order to reduce the risk of injury or damage, when the release mechanism is actuated, the force flow between the drive of the shutting aid and the door to be closed is simultaneously mechanically interrupted. As a result of this measure, the rotary latch is immediately released and the door springs open.

A door lock ( ) having an opening aid ( ) has a rotatable lock latch ( ), a detent pawl ( ) arresting the latter in the latching position, and a driven driving pin ( ) which opens the detent pawl ( ) and can be blocked against a stop ( ). The previously customary solution of providing the stop ( ) on the detent pawl ( ) restricts the structural design. In order to obtain more scope in the arrangement of the parts, it is proposed to arrange the stop ( ) on a separate blocking lever ( ) which can be carried along into its blocking position by the detent pawl ( ) during the opening.
