Disclosed is a method for improving system performance in a wireless communication network comprising one or more network cells. Each network cell comprises one or more transmission points transmitting cell specific information. The method comprises determining () whether a first TRxP comprised in a first network cell fulfills a utilization criterion. When it is determined that the first TRxP fulfills the utilization criterion () the method further comprises gathering () utilization statistics associated with the first TRxP and/or with the first network cell, evaluating () the gathered utilization statistics and determining (), based on the evaluated utilization statistics, whether moving the first TRxP to a second network cell will improve overall system performance of the wireless communication network. Also disclosed are arrangements, transmission points, radio control functions and computer program products.

Automatic transmission point handling in a wireless communication network

There is provided mechanisms for location based mobility measurement activation. A method is performed by a network node. The network node is configured to provide network access in a first cell. The method comprises determining, according to information of at least one measurement area, whether wireless devices are to perform mobility measurements for a possible handover to another network node or not. Each of the at least one measurement area has a dynamically changeable size. The size depends on position dependent events of the wireless devices in the first cell. The method comprises providing mobility measurement activation instructions to the wireless devices in the first cell in response thereto.

Location based mobility measurement activation

The embodiments disclose a method of a wireless communication device adapted to operate in compliance with a first radio access technology in association with a first network and in compliance with a second radio access technology in association with a second network. The method comprises reading a first information comprised in a first signal received from a first network node of the first network using the first radio access technology; and if the first information comprises a first list of neighboring cells for the second radio access technology, using the first list of neighboring cells to provide idle mode mobility management for the second radio access technology in the second network. Methods and systems for self-tuning network search algorithms

By adapting its search procedures, a user equipment in a mobile communication system can shorten the time needed to find a cell or public land mobile network. If a first cell in a first radio access technology has been found, the equipment can exclude one or more frequencies from a search for cells in a second radio access technology. Thus, time and power are not wasted searching for cells in the second radio access technology that cannot be found.

A method for synchronizing measurements in a mobile communication apparatus having a first active radio access means () adapted to communicate according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and at least a second passive radio access means () adapted to communicate according to a second RAT. Method for synchronization in a mobile radio terminal

By evaluating a cell selection criterion S during scans for available public land mobile networks (PLMNs), a user equipment (UE) can avoid network service interruptions by not selecting PLMNs for which there exist no suitable cells.
