A bioerodible endoprosthesis includes a bioerodible magnesium alloy. The bioerodible magnesium alloy has magnesium and one or more additional alloying elements, including aluminum. The alloy has a microstructure comprising equiaxed Mg-rich solid solution phase grains having an average grain diameter of less than or equal to 5 microns and continuous or discontinuous second-phase precipitates in grain boundaries between the Mg-rich solid solution-phase grains, the second-phase precipitates having an average longest dimension of 0.5 micron or less.

The control device also includes one or more wires coupled to the spool. Rotation of the knob is configured to rotate the control shaft, causing the at least one spring clutch to loosen, the spool to rotate, and the one or more wires to move.

A device for treating hemorrhoids includes a first ligating member which moves between a first position in which the first member is tightened to a degree required to maintain a desired position of the first member around the first portion without significantly cutting off blood flow and a second configuration in which the first member is cinched down around the first portion to substantially cut off blood flow to the encircled first portion. Also, the device includes a first applicator having a proximal lumen and first and second opposed distal lumens open to the proximal lumen. The first member is extending from a proximal end distally through the proximal lumen into the first lumen to exit a distal end of the first lumen, loop around and enter the distal end of the second lumen. The first member is passing through the second lumen into the proximal lumen.

Embodiments herein relate to systems and methods for thawing cells using magnetic particles, such as Curie-magnetic or Néel-magnetic particles. In an embodiment, a method for thawing a frozen cell sample is included. The method can include obtaining a frozen cell sample comprising particles, the particles comprising a magnetic material and applying an alternating electromagnetic field to the frozen cell sample to induce heating of the magnetic material. In an embodiment, a wearable device comprises a substrate configured to attached to a subject's skin. The substrate comprises a middle portion arranged between two end portions, wherein the middle portion is more flexible than at least one of the end portions. The wearable device also comprises a physiological sensor arranged on the middle portion. The physiological sensor is configured to sense a physiological signal of the subject when the wearable device is attached to the subject's skin. And, the wearable device comprises one or more electrical components arranged on at least one of the end portions, wherein at least one of the one or more electrical components is coupled to the physiological sensor.

Examples herein include prosthetic valves, valve leaflets and related methods. In an example, a prosthetic valve is included having a plurality of leaflets. The leaflets can each have a root portion and an edge portion substantially opposite the root portion and movable relative to the root portion. The leaflets can include a fibrous matrix including polymeric fibers having an average diameter of about 10 nanometers to about 10 micrometers. A coating can surround the polymeric fibers within the fibrous matrix. The coating can have a thickness of about 3 to about 30 nanometers. The coating can be formed of a material selected from the group consisting of a metal oxide, a nitride, a carbide, a sulfide, or fluoride. In an example, a method of making a valve is included. Other examples are also included herein.

Prosthetic valves, valve leaflets and related methods

Vascular valve systems for treating calcified vascular vessel valves by delivery of one or more calcium chelating agents are described. The vascular valve systems can include an expandable stent, a valve, and a material layer. The material layer includes a hydrogel, calcium chelating agent, and an acidifying agent.
