A method for production of disposable hygienic absorbent articles, the method comprising advancing in a first direction a continuous length of a substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web having a maximum elastic extensibility in the first direction of at least 40% under a peak load F; maintaining said substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web under a tensioning load Fin the first direction during the advancing, the tensioning load Fsatisfying the condition: 0.03 F&#x2264;F&#x2264;0.25 F; attaching individual absorbent cores to the substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web while maintaining said substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web under the tensioning load F; and severing the substantially homogenous elastic laminate web into individual disposable hygienic absorbent articles.

Method for production of disposable absorbent articles

An absorbent article, such as a diaper, panty diaper, sanitary napkin or incontinence device includes a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core enclosed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core includes an anti-bacterial agent or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chloride in combination with an organic zinc salt, in particular, zinc ricinoleate. The combination of antibacterial or (earth) alkali metal chloride and organic zinc salt exerts a synergetic effect in the suppression of malodours, such as ammonia.

A method for producing pant-type absorbent articles, each article including a chassis structure having at least one elastic panel and an integrated absorbent core component, the method including a continuous pant-forming process including forming the chassis structure and incorporating the absorbent core component into the chassis structure. The at least one elastic panel is formed by a) separately producing a two-layer laminate having a first non-elastic fibrous nonwoven web and an elastic film, b) activating the two-layer laminate by incremental stretching in at least one activation direction to render the two-layer laminate elastically stretchable, c) stretching the activated two-layer laminate by 10-200% in the activation direction, d) introducing the two-layer laminate) in the pant-forming process, and e) laminating the elastic film of the stretched two-layer laminate to an elastic or nonwoven chassis component. An absorbent pant-type article produced in accordance with the method.

Pant-type absorbent article and a method for producing pant-type absorbent articles

An absorbent article, such as a diaper, panty diaper, sanitary napkin or incontinence device includes a liquid-permeable topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core enclosed between the liquid-permeable topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core includes acidic fluff pulp having a pH of 5.5 or less and an organic zinc salt, in particular zinc ricinoleate. The combination of organic zinc salt and acidic fluff pulp exerts a synergetic effect in the suppression of ammonia.

A method for producing an elastically stretchable laminate having at least three layers, the method including the steps of: a) producing a first laminate having a first non-elastic fibrous nonwoven web and an elastic film; b) activating the first laminate by incremental stretching in at least one activation direction to render the first laminate elastically stretchable; c) stretching the activated first laminate to 10-200% in the activation direction; and d) laminating the stretched first laminate to a second non-elastic nonwoven web. An elastically stretchable laminate produced in accordance with the method is also disclosed.

An elastically stretchable laminate () includes a first non-elastic nonwoven web (), a second non-elastic nonwoven web () and an elastic film () between the first and the second nonwoven webs (). The laminate () has been rendered elastic in a first direction (MD) by incremental stretching and partial tearing of the first and second nonwoven webs (). The laminate () includes a reinforcement layer () arranged between the first and second non-elastic nonwoven webs () and comprising unbroken reinforcement fibers or filaments () extending in a second direction (CD), generally perpendicular to the first direction (MD). Also described is a pant-type article including the elastically stretchable laminate.

Elastic laminate and absorbent article comprising the laminate

An absorbent article includes a front region (), a back region () and a crotch region () there between. The article further includes substantially longitudinally extending inner () and outer () leak barriers alongside each side of the absorbent core (). The inner and outer leak barriers are spaced from each other in the transverse direction (x) of the article. The inner leak barriers () extend at least along the part of the crotch region () having the narrowest width (w) in the transverse direction (x), and along a length (b) of at least 5 cm, and the outer leak barriers () extend along at least a part of the front region () and/or back region () of the article, while at least a part of the crotch region () along which said inner leak barriers () extend is free from raised outer leak barriers ().

Absorbent article with leak barriers

An absorbent article having a front region, a back region and a crotch region there between, said article has substantially longitudinally extending leak barriers, each of said leak barriers having a free laterally inward elasticized side and a laterally outward side, the elasticized side of the leak barrier being raised from the inner cover of the absorbent article. The crotch region along a length of at least 2 cm, preferably at least 5 cm and more preferably at least 10 cm, in longitudinal direction is free from raised leak barriers, while raised leak barriers are present in the front and/or back regions of the article.

An absorbent article of the kind which is worn as a pair of absorbent pants with a waist opening defined by a rear waist edge and a front waist edge, and two leg openings. The absorbent article preferably includes an absorbent body attached to a covering. The covering preferably includes an elastic material arranged within an area which extends at least from the front waist edge to the leg openings. The elastic material is preferably treated. The treated elastic material preferably has no or reduced elasticity within a portion of the covering overlapping the absorbent core.

Absorbent article with improved leakage security and fit

A pant type absorbent article such as a pant diaper, a sanitary pant or incontinence pant, the article having a core region including an absorbent core and a chassis region surrounding the core region. The article at least in part of the chassis region has an outer coversheet in the form of an elastic laminate having a Softness (S) according to Kawabata of at least 20. The laminate includes first and second layers of fibrous material and an elastic film layer located between the first and second fibrous layers.

Absorbent article comprising an elastic laminate

A fibrous material and a method of producing it, the material is mainly intended to be incorporated in an absorbent article and comprises a layer of continuous fibers, so-called tow, which have been bonded together in points, lines or spots in a bonding pattern, but otherwise are substantially unbonded to each other. The tow layer is bonded with at least two bonding patterns: a first relatively strong and diffuse bonding pattern, and a second more distinct second bonding pattern. Bonding of at least the first bonding pattern takes place by thermobonding, wherein a pattern roll is used which provide the desired bonding patterns. In the first welding step the pattern roll is driven at a higher speed than the feeding speed of the tow layer, so as to create a relatively diffuse and strong bonding pattern.
