Surgical instrument system

A mobile surgical tracking system comprises a mobile surgical tracking device comprising an integrated fiducial marker and an imaging device. The imaging device is configured to generate an image of a patient's anatomical structure. The mobile surgical tracking system comprises a tracking system coordinate frame. The integrated fiducial marker has a position which has a known relation to the tracking system coordinate frame for the direct registration of the image to the coordinate system of the mobile surgical tracking device.

Mobile surgical tracking system with an integrated fiducial marker for image guided interventions

A surgical instrument system for treatment of an anatomical structure comprises an instrument and/or a patient specific instrument. The instrument and/or the patient specific instrument comprises an integrated measurement system for tracking the instrument and/or the patient specific instrument relative to the anatomical structure. The integrated measurement system comprises a tracking system, which comprises a shadow imaging tracking system comprising an optical source, a shadow-generating device and a patient specific instrument sensor. An initial position of the instrument or the patient specific instrument is registerable by the patient specific instrument sensor. The shadow-generating device is arranged between the optical source and the imaging device for generating a shadow. The shadow imaging tracking system is configured to compute the elevation of the source from the pattern the shadow casts on the surface of the imaging device. The integrated measurement system comprises an inertial measurement unit to determine the patient's position.

A bone clamp for securing of a measurement aid to a bone comprises a first clip and a second clip and an adapter. The adapter comprises a pulling mechanism and a locking mechanism, whereby the position of the first clip relative to the second clip can be altered by actuation of the pulling mechanism, wherein the position of the first clip relative to the second clip can be fixed by actuation of the locking mechanism. The first clip and the second clip each have an inner face which is oriented in the direction of the bone, wherein the first clip has one or more spikes on the inner face and wherein the second clip has a sliding edge on the inner face.

A ligament-tensioning device and method for activation of the ligament and/or capsule system in the implantation of a joint implant. The device includes a distal bearing plate for bearing against a distal skeletal part, and also includes first and second proximal bearing plates, each of which partially overlaps the distal bearing plate in a first in-use position, for bearing against a proximal skeletal part. The device further includes means for relative displacement of the proximal bearing plates to increase their spacing from the distal bearing plate. The displacement means includes a scissor-type guide means that supports the respective proximal bearing plate in the ventral-dorsal as well as the medial-lateral parallel position with respect to the distal bearing plate.
