Isotope preparation method

The present invention provides a method for the purification ofTh from a mixture comprisingTh andRa, said method comprising: i) preparing a first solution comprising a mixture ofTh andRa ions dissolved in an aqueous solution of first mineral acid; ii) loading said first solution onto a strong base anion exchange resin; iii) elutingRa from said strong base anion exchange resin using a second mineral acid in an aqueous solution; iv) optionally rinsing said strong base anion exchange resin using a first aqueous medium; v) elutingTh from said strong base anion exchange resin using a third mineral acid in an aqueous solution whereby to generate a second solution comprisingTh. The invention further provides a purifiedTh solution, a corresponding pharmaceutical formulation and methods of treatment of neoplastic disease.

The present invention provides a method for the generation ofRa of pharmaceutically tolerable purity comprising i) preparing a generator mixture comprisingAc,Th andRa; ii) loading said generator mixture onto a strong base anion exchange resin; iii) eluting saidRa from said strong base anion exchange resin using a first mineral acid in an alcoholic aqueous solution to give a first elutedRa solution; iv) loading theRa of the first elutedRa solution onto a strong acid cation exchange resin; and v) eluting theRa from said strong acid cation exchange resin using a second mineral acid in aqueous solution to provide a second eluted solution. The invention additionally provides products of corresponding purity and/or products obtained or obtainable by such a method.

A method of manufacturing a support media from a cross-linked polymerisate based on vinyl compounds, and exhibiting residual vinyl groups. The characteristic feature of the method is that the polymerisate is subjected to a heating step that preferably is carried out under reduced access of oxygen.
