A mirror clip for use in an optical mirror housing for an optical emission spectrometer includes a body having a mirror seating portion, at least one hinge member for positioning and attaching the clip to an optical mirror housing, and at least one clamping member for releasably securing the mirror clip to the optical mirror housing. A mirror can be accommodated in the mirror seating portion. The at least one hinge member may include a hook to provide a releasable hinged connection between the mirror clip and the optical mirror housing.

A plasma source chamber () for use in a spectrometer comprises an inner housing () for accommodating a plasma source () and an outer housing () accommodating the inner housing. The outer housing () comprises at least one outer air inlet opening () in a first wall and at least one outer air outlet opening () in a second wall. Walls of the inner housing and walls of the outer housing define a spacing () so as to allow a first air flow () from the at least one outer air inlet opening () to the at least one outer air outlet opening () through the spacing () between the inner housing and the outer housing. The inner housing () comprises at least one inner air inlet opening () in a first wall and at least one inner air outlet opening () in a second wall to allow a second air flow () from the at least one inner air inlet opening to the at least one inner air outlet opening through the inner housing. Thus, an improved cooling of the outer surfaces of the plasma source chamber is achieved.

A sliding door assembly () for an inductively coupled plasma torch box () reduces the risk of heat related injuries and facilitates the handling of the torch box. The door assembly () comprises a door and a guiding mechanism () for allowing movement of the door in a first direction along an opening () of the torch box () so as to be able to open and close the torch box, and allowing movement of the door in a second direction, substantially perpendicular to the first direction, so as to move the door or at least a part thereof towards the opening when closing the torch box. The door may comprise an inner door panel interconnected with an outer door panel, so that only the inner door panel moves in the second direction, towards the opening () of the torch box () to tightly close it, while the outer door panel can maintain a safe temperature during operation.
