A computer-implemented method for applying control to a robot, and apparatus therefor. A parametric model of an environment, in particular a deep neural network, is trained in accordance with a method for training the parametric model of the environment. The model is trained depending on a controlled system. A strategy is learned in accordance with a method for model-based learning of the strategy. Control is applied to the robot depending on the parametric model and on the strategy.

Method for automatically setting at least one parameter of an actuator control system, which is set up for controlling a control variable of an actuator to a predefinable target value, wherein the actuator control system is set up, depending on the at least one parameter, the target value and the control variable, to generate a manipulated variable and depending on this manipulated variable to control the actuator, wherein a new value-of the at least one parameter is selected depending on a long-term cost function, wherein this long-term cost function is determined depending on a predicted temporal evolution of a probability distribution of the control variable of the actuator and the parameter is then set to this new value.

The invention relates to a method for automatically setting at least one parameter of an actuator control system which is designed to control a control variable of an actuator to a predefinable setpoint. The actuator control system is designed to generate a control variable depending on the at least one parameter, the setpoint and the control variable and to actuate the actuator depending on this control variable. A new value of the at least one parameter is determined depending on a stationary probability distribution of the control variable, and the parameter is then set to this new value.
