A suction device with a suction device housing (), in which a suction turbine () for generating a suction flow (S) is arranged, the suction turbine () having a suction turbine inflow opening (A), through which the suction flow (S) can flow into the suction turbine () and at least one suction turbine outflow opening (B), through which the suction flow (S) can flow out of the suction turbine (), wherein the suction device housing () has a suction inlet () for letting in the suction flow (S) and a dust collecting chamber () for collecting dust contained in the suction flow (S), wherein a filter element () for retaining dust in the dust collecting chamber () is arranged between the dust collecting chamber () and a suction turbine inflow opening (A) of the suction turbine (). The suction turbine inflow opening (A) of the suction turbine () is connected to at least one cooling air duct (), which has a duct inflow opening (A,A,) through which cooling air (KL) from an area surrounding the suction device () can flow past the filter element () to the suction turbine ().
