A method for determining a driving maneuver of a vehicle with a control unit includes receiving a measurement data relating to a traffic situation from a sensor, determining a current detection area of the sensor by evaluating the measurement data, and creating a sensor model based on the measurement data. An estimated detection area of the sensor from the measurement data is modelled through forward simulation based on a vehicle position of the vehicle. A change in the estimated detection area of the sensor due to a driving maneuver is determined along with the driving maneuver that causes an increase in the estimated detection area due to the sensor model.

Traffic-rule-compliant decision-making in dynamic traffic scenarios

A method for assessing possible trajectories of road users in a traffic environment includes capturing the traffic environment with static and dynamic features, identifying at least one traffic user, determining at least one possible trajectory for at least one road user in the traffic environment, and assessing the at least one determined possible trajectory for the at least one road user with an adapted/trained recommendation service and the captured traffic environment.

A method of operating a vehicle includes determining a first plurality of known lane intervals at a first time with a controller of a guidance system of the vehicle, the known lane intervals available to receive the vehicle, determining a plurality of visible lane intervals at a second time after the first time with the controller based on perception data generated by the guidance system, and determining a plurality of occupied lane intervals at the second time with the controller based on the perception data generated by the guidance system. The method further includes determining a second plurality of known lane intervals at the second time as a union of the first plurality of known lane intervals, the plurality of visible lane intervals, and the plurality of occupied lane intervals.
