A battery unit with a battery housing with a base body having an open design at its two opposite end regions. Two battery housing covers are provided which can each be arranged so that they can be connected at one of the two opposite end regions to the base body in order to close the battery housing. At least two battery chambers are provided in the battery housing for the arrangement of battery cells. The base body has, for partitioning the battery chambers, at least one partition wall which extends from an end region of the base body to the other end region of the base body along its longitudinal extent. At least one of the battery housing covers or both battery housing covers has, on its respective side facing the partition wall, an open socket into which a respective partition wall can be inserted.

Battery unit and motor vehicle with a battery unit

A crash support assembly is provided in the tunnel region of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle has at least one exhaust tract guided through a tunnel of the vehicle and seat cross members are disposed to the side of the tunnel. A crash support is held on the exhaust tract and is disposed such that it swings freely between the seat cross members. A crash support of this type permits the vehicle to be optimized with regard to the conditions of a pole crash with a low outlay on production and assembly.

A motor vehicle contains two A pillars, a front wall, a central tunnel and a front wall cross member. The front wall cross member has two side parts which are attached to the A pillars of the motor vehicle, and a middle part connecting these two side parts. The side parts are shaped in such a way that they are in at least partial contact with the front wall of the motor vehicle and are attached to the front wall there. The middle part is in at least partial contact with the central tunnel of the motor vehicle.

A motor vehicle has a support structure that contains longitudinal members and a crossmember. It is important that the crossmember, at a front/rear end, is fixedly connected to tubular crash elements which run in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The tubular crash elements respectively engage in an associated longitudinal member and are fixed therein coaxially with respect to the longitudinal member via at least two supporting points spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
