A medical device operable to obtain images of an internal cavity of a patient, including a handle; a flexible tube including a first section having a first radial cross-section area and a second section distal of the first section and having a second radial cross-section area smaller than the first radial cross-section area, the second section having an outer surface; a bending section extending from the flexible tube and including a proximal end segment, a distal end segment, and intermediate segments between the proximal end segment and the distal end segment, the intermediate segments hingedly connected to each other, the proximal end segment including a proximal end segment peripheral wall defining an internal space, wherein the second section is positioned at least partly in the internal space; and a camera assembly supported by the bending section and operable to generate images of distal views.

Articulated tip part for an endoscope

A medical visualisation device including an instrument elevator having a guide surface for engagement with an instrument protruding through a tip part instrument channel and a X-ray transparent housing. The instrument elevator is radiopaque and pivotable around a pivot axis to adjust a guide angle between the guide surface and a longitudinal axis. The pivot axis being substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and a viewing direction. A control wire being coupled to the instrument elevator to transfer a force exerted on the control wire to the instrument elevator to adjust the guide angle.

Medical visualisation device

Housing for the tip of a disposable insertion endoscope

A tip part () for an endoscope () having at least one transparent part and at least one opaque part providing an outer surface. The outer surface comprises a transparent outer surface part () and an opaque outer surface part (), respectively. The transparent outer surface part is smooth () and at least a part of the opaque outer surface part () is provided with a hydrophobic structure.

Tip part for an endoscope and the manufacture thereof

A laryngeal mask () comprising an air-way tube () and a mask portion () with an inflatable cuff () which is arranged around the airway tube () at the distal end thereof. A gastric tube () which extends at least partially along the outer surface of the airway tube (), penetrates through the wall of said inflatable cuff () at a first location, extends through said inflatable cuff (), and ends in a connection to an opening () in the wall of the cuff at a second location at the tip part of the laryngeal mask, so as to provide a passage through said circumferential cuff. With respect to a central mirror symmetry plane said gastric tube extends along the outer surface of the airway tube () in an asymmetrical manner, through said inflatable cuff () at the first location arranged asymmetrically with respect to said central plane, through said inflatable cuff (), and ends in the connection to the wall of the cuff () at the second location at the tip part.

Laryngeal mask

A laryngeal mask for use in a patient includes an airway tube having an inner lumen and a distal end; and a mask portion connected at a proximal end thereof to the distal end of the airway tube and having a distal tip opposite the proximal end. The mask portion includes an inflatable cuff including an anterior cuff surface configured to contact the patient's tissue when the inflatable cuff is inflated; and a wedge portion including a stabilization surface and two walls connected to the inflatable cuff and extending therefrom toward the stabilization surface, the stabilization surface extending from the distal tip of the mask portion toward the distal end of the airway tube at a wedge angle of between about 12 and 30 degrees, the wedge angle formed between the stabilization surface and the anterior cuff surface when the inflatable mask is inflated, whereby the stabilization surface is transversely and longitudinally substantially flat to stabilize the laryngeal mask in use. The laryngeal mask has a gastric tube with a varying inner tube diameter.

A laryngeal mask includes an airway tube having an inner lumen and a distal end; and a mask portion connected at a proximal end thereof to the distal end of the airway tube and having a distal tip opposite the proximal end. The mask portion includes an inflatable cuff including an anterior cuff surface, and a wedge portion including a stabilization surface and two walls connected to the inflatable cuff and extending toward from the stabilization surface, the stabilization surface extending from the distal tip of the mask portion toward the distal end of the airway tube at a wedge angle of between about 12 and 30 degrees, the wedge angle formed between the stabilization surface and the anterior cuff surface when the inflatable mask is inflated. The stabilization surface is transversely and longitudinally substantially flat to stabilize the laryngeal mask in use.

A laryngeal mask insertable into a patient, an airway tube of the laryngeal mask having a bore extending from a proximal to a distal end of the airway tube, a connector provided at the proximal end of the airway tube, the connector comprising a connector body with a longitudinal bore, at least two wall portions extending longitudinally from a first continuous wall to a second continuous wall, and two parallel and opposite longitudinal wall cut-away portions intermediate the at least two wall portions, the length of the longitudinal wall cut-away portions being greater than the length of the first continuous wall.
