An aerostatic bearing and a linear compressor that includes the aerostatic bearing. In an exemplary embodiment, the aerostatic bearing includes a guide element including holes, and a body structured to move along a surface of the guide element. The holes may include a first section close to the body, of which at least one part area features a cross-sectional surface substantially constant over its entire length which is smaller towards the body than another cross-sectional surface of an area away from the body. A method for producing a hole in an element, using a laser beam, for producing the aerostatic bearing is also disclosed.

A linear compressor has a rigid frame (), on which an oscillating body () is held via at least one spring () so as to be able to effect reciprocating motion and at least one electromagnet () is mounted for driving the reciprocating motion of the oscillating body (), and having a pump chamber () forming part of the frame, in which pump chamber a piston, connected to the oscillating body (), may effect reciprocating motion. The frame () is connected in an oscillatory manner to a fixing member () for fixing the linear compressor to a support by a diaphragm spring () oriented transversely of the direction of movement of the oscillating body.

A linear compressor with a pumping chamber, in which a piston moves back and forth, and a frame, fixed to the pumping chamber, on which an oscillating body, connected to the piston, is fixed by at least one spring such as to move back and forth and provided with at least one electromagnet, for driving the back and forth movement of the oscillating body. A one-piece spring connects the oscillating body to the frame and the frame to a fixing body, for fixing the linear compressor to a support.
