In a method for monitoring a state of a safety bearing of a rotor shaft of a machine, with the rotor shaft being supported by a magnetic bearing and the safety bearing having an outer ring and an inner ring arranged for rotation with respect to the outer ring, the rotor shaft of the machine is caught with the safety bearing when the magnetic bearing of the machine fails. The magnetic bearing is witched off for monitoring the state of the safety bearing. The rotor shaft is rotated with the machine under control of a higher-ranking controller by using a defined motion sequence, and a physical variable of the safety bearing is measured with a sensor.

Machine and method for monitoring the state of a safety bearing of a machine

An operating method for container quay cranes used to load and unload container ships aided by a PC with a monitor in a crane driver's cabin. The crane driver operates a touchscreen on the monitor, thereby enabling the crane to reach its specified target in a fully or partially automatic manner. Several operating modes, including a training mode, are provided.

A pivot bearing having a first bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Guided in the first bearing surface is a second bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Rolling bodies are arranged between the bearing surfaces. The pivot bearing also has a cage for guiding the rolling bodies, and a slide block to prevent the cage from slipping. A first grove is formed in the first bearing surface and a second grove is formed in the second bearing surface. The groves are inclined transversely with respect to the running direction of the rolling bodies. The opposite inclination of the groves has the result that, if the spacing between the bearing surfaces is neglected, the grooves intersect. The sliding block is guided between the grooves. The cage has a recess that holds the sliding block permitting cage control.

Pivot bearing

A rolling bearing, which has a first and second bearing ring and a plurality of rolling bodies. The bearing rings being are arranged in relation to each other by the rolling bodies such that they can rotate about a common axis. A shoulder body forms an edge for axial arrangement of the rolling body and lies on a front ring supporting surface of one of the bearing rings by a front shoulder supporting surface. The shoulder supporting surface and the ring supporting surface are designed such that the axial position of the edge is modified in the event of a mutual rotation of the shoulder body and bearing ring.

The invention relates to a bearing assembly () comprising at least one first bearing () that acts as an axially free radial support () and at least one second bearing () that acts as a radially free axial support (). According to the invention, said bearings () share a common rotational axis () and at least one first bearing ring () of the first bearing () and a second bearing ring () of the second bearing () are rotationally fixed in relation to at least one bearing seat.
