A method for reducing metal oxide containing charge materials (): reducing the metal oxide containing charge materials () in at least two fluidized bed units (RA,RE) by means of a reduction gas (), wherein at least some of the resulting off-gas () is recycled and wherein the metal oxide containing charge materials () are conveyed into the fluidized bed unit RE by a propellant gas. Also, apparatus for carrying out the method according to the invention is disclosed.

A melter gasifier of a smelting reduction installation is charged by bringing together coal -containing material in lump form and iron carrier material (which may be hot) before and/or while they enter the melter gasifier. The ratio of the combined amounts of iron carrier material and coal-containing material in lump form is variable. The combined amounts of iron carrier material and coal-containing material in lump form are distributed over the cross section of the melter gasifier by a dynamic distributing device, and the ratio of the combined amounts of the iron carrier material and coal-containing material in lump form is set depending on the position of the dynamic distributing device.

Method and device for charging coal-containing material and iron carrier material

A device for closed-loop control of process gases () in a plant () for producing directly reduced metal ores includes at least one reduction unit (), an appliance upstream of the reduction unit () for separating gas mixtures (), a gas purification appliance () connected downstream of the reduction unit () for rate control of process gases (). Process gases () are obtained by recycling from the production process itself and from a plant for pig iron generation () via a supply conduit (). An open-loop pressure control appliance () upstream of a junction of the supply conduit () into a return conduit () for the process gases () such that a pressure level for the appliance for separating gas mixtures () is kept constant and the process gases () are controlled in a closed-loop manner in a plant for producing directly reduced metal ores ().

A melting reduction assembly () has a melting gasification zone, including a packed bed () formed by solid carbon carriers and ferrous input materials, the zone has a lower section for receiving liquid pig iron () or raw steel material and liquid slag (), a tap () for liquid slag and liquid pig iron. A plurality of oxygen nozzles () supplies oxygen. The nozzles are in at least two nozzle planes arranged spaced apart from each other and parallel in the vertical direction and horizontally distributed over the circumstances of the shell () of the melting reduction assembly () and arranged offset to each other in their respective nozzle planes.

Melting reduction assembly and method for operating a melting reduction assembly

A method is provided for producing pressed articles which contain direct-reduced, fine particulate iron (direct reduced iron, DRI) from a fluidized bed reduction system for direct reduction of fine particulate iron ore, wherein direct-reduced, fine particulate iron produced in the fluidized bed reduction system during direct reduction is compacted into pressed articles. Dry, fine particulate material containing at least fine particulate iron ore and optionally fine particulate iron and carbon is admixed to the direct-reduced fine particulate iron and the mixture thus obtained is subsequently compacted into pressed articles. An apparatus for carrying out such method is also provided.

Process and apparatus for producing pressed articles

In a plant having integrated COremoval, for pig iron production or synthesizing gas, at least part of the offgas or synthesis gas is discharged as export gas from the plant, optionally collected in an export gas container and subsequently thermally utilized in a gas turbine. The offgas from the gas turbine is fed to a waste heat boiler for generation of steam. To reduce the addition of high-grade fuel gases, at least part of the tailgas from the COremoval plant is mixed into the export gas upstream of the gas turbine as a function of the joule value of the export gas after addition of the tailgas. The proportion of tailgas is increased when the joule value of the export gas goes above a predefined maximum joule value and the proportion of tailgas is reduced when the joule value of the export gas drops below a predefined minimum joule value.

Process for regulating joule value of offgases from plants for pig iron production or of synthesis gas

A process for producing pig iron or liquid primary steel products in a smelting unit (), in particular a melter gasifier. Iron-ore-containing charge materials, and possibly additions, are at least partially reduced in at least one reduction unit (R, R, R, R) by means of a reducing gas. A first fraction of the at least partially reduced charge materials is melted down in the smelting unit (), while carbon carriers and oxygen-containing gas are supplied, with the simultaneous formation of the reducing gas. The reducing gas is fed to the reduction unit (R, R, R, R) and, after the reducing gas has passed through the reduction unit, it is drawn off as top gas. A second fraction of the at least partially reduced charge materials is fed to a smelting reduction unit for reducing and smelting.

Process and device for producing pig iron or liquid steel precursors

A process and an apparatus for reducing charge materials containing iron ore or for producing pig iron or liquid primary steel products in a smelting unit are provided, the charge materials being at least partially reduced in at least one reduction unit by means of a reducing gas and optionally at least some of the at least partially reduced charge materials being melted in a smelting unit while supplying coal or coke and gas containing oxygen, while simultaneously forming the reducing gas, and the reducing gas or a reducing gas generated externally being supplied to the reduction unit. In the event of an interruption in the production of pig iron or primary steel products, the at least one reduction unit is emptied and the at least partially reduced charge materials are introduced into at least one vessel and kept under a non-oxidizing shielding gas atmosphere.

Process and apparatus for reducing charge materials containing iron ore or for producing pig iron or liquid primary steel products

A process and an installation for reducing particulate material containing iron oxide are shown, wherein the material containing iron oxide is at least partially reduced with reducing gas in a reducing zone and the waste gas produced during the reduction is drawn off and subsequently subjected to COcleaning in a COseparating device (), in which a tail gas containing COis separated. The tail gas is subjected to combustion and subsequent dewatering in a dewatering device (), the substitute gas thereby formed being used as a substitute for inert gas.

Process and installation for producing substitute gas

A method and device are disclosed for automatically evaluating a delivery system in respect of the energy efficiency and emissions efficiency thereof. The method may include: determining a service level for the delivery system according to an energy intensity and an evaluation relevance of the particular delivery system, detecting energy data and emissions data of the delivery system corresponding to the determined service level of the delivery system, and calculating at least one indicator based on the detected energy data and emissions data and/or based on data for the energy management and environmental management of the delivery system for evaluating the delivery system with respect to the energy efficiency and emissions efficiency thereof.

Method for increasing the penetration depth of an oxygen stream

An injector insert pipe is arranged in the gas channel of a nozzle for injecting oxygen-containing gas into a pig iron production unit, wherein an interspace which surrounds the pipe is present over the entire pipe length between the wall of the gas channel and the pipe outer wall. The pipe extends at least as far as the nozzle end face which contains the mouth of the gas channel. The pipe space is connected to an oxygen-containing gas feed line, and the interspace is connected to a protective gas supply line. In a process, oxygen-containing gas is fed into the pipe space, which after it has flowed through the pipe, enters the production unit at an entry velocity, and the interspace is simultaneously flowed through by a gas which exits into the production unit at an exit velocity, wherein the entry velocity is greater than the exit velocity.
