The present disclosure relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprising at least a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprising a hollow non-porous particulate filler material, wherein the surface of the hollow non-porous particulate filler material is provided with a hydrophobic surface modification. The present disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing such a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly.

Pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprising filler material

The present disclosure relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly suitable for bonding to a substrate provided with an uneven surface, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprises a polymeric foam layer comprising a polymeric base material and a particulate filler material comprising a thermoplastic material, and wherein the polymeric foam layer has a complex viscosity comprised between 2,000 Pa&#xb7;s to 80,000 Pa&#xb7;s, when measured at 120 C according to the test method described in the experimental section. The present disclosure is also directed to a method of applying a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly to a substrate provided with an uneven surface, and uses thereof.

Pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprising thermoplastic filler material

The present disclosure is directed to a multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) assembly, comprising at least one pressure sensitive adhesive layer and a polymeric foam layer, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising a reaction product of a polymerizable material comprising: a) 2-propylheptyl acrylate as a first monomer; and optionally b) a second monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group. The present disclosure is also directed to a method of manufacturing such a multilayer PSA assembly.

Multilayer pressure-sensitive adhesive assembly

A multilayer protective tape for rotor blades of wind energy turbines is provided herein. The protective tape comprising a protective top layer comprising a polymer film, and an adhesive bottom layer. The top layer having a continuous surface (S) that is outwardly curved or outwardly trapezoidal such that the tape has a cross-sectional profile having an inner section between first and second edge lateral sections. The inner section comprises up to 30% of the width of the tape and has a thickness (Ti), while the first and second edge lateral sections have a thickness of T1 and T2, respectively, wherein Ti greater than each of T1 or T2, and the thickness (T1 or T2) of at least one edged lateral section is at most 600 &#x3bc;m and the thickness of the inner section (Ti) is at least 330 &#x3bc;m. Also provided is a method for applying the tape to rotor blades and a rotor blade protected by said protective tape.

The invention relates to a continuous self-metered process of forming a multilayer film comprising at least two superimposed polymer layers comprising the steps of: (i) providing a substrate (); (ii) providing two or more coating knives () which are offset, independently from each other, from said substrate () and/or from an adjacent coating knife to form at least one substrate gap () relative to the surface of the substrate () and at least one outlet gap () relative to the surface of an adjacent coating knife; (iii) moving the substrate () relative to the coating knives () in a downstream direction (), (iv) providing curable liquid precursors of the polymers (I, II, III) to the upstream side of the coating knives () thereby coating the two or more precursors (I, II, III) through the respective gaps () as superimposed layers () onto the substrate (); (v) optionally providing one or more solid films () and applying these essentially simultaneously with the formation of the adjacent lower polymer layer, and (vi) curing the precursor of the multilayer film thus obtained; wherein a lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) is covered by an adjacent upper layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) or a film (), respectively, essentially without exposing said lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III).
